A culinary adventure of a special kind awaits you at this one-of-a-kind retro restaurant. The wild yet affectionate decor takes you on a journey into the past, while you get lost in a diverse world of vegetarian and vegan delights.
The fantastic service adds to the warm atmosphere and instantly makes you feel at home. My heart was won over when I saw my daughter befriending the house cat – a heartfelt gesture that made the visit even more personal. The generous children's play area ensures that even the youngest guests feel comfortable and entertained.
The menu presents an exciting variety of homemade, vegetarian, and vegan dishes from around the world. From the spicy Shakshuka to the crispy Samosas, every choice is a culinary discovery. I was particularly impressed by the delicious vegan Döner, which offered a refreshing alternative to the usual options.
However, the highlights don't end with the main courses. The selection of fresh vegan desserts is a true temptation. The warm Apple Crumble with ice cream is an unforgettable flavor experience that will delight your taste buds.
In summary, this retro restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The combination of affectionate decor, friendly service, animal companionship, and a wide selection of delicious dishes from around the world makes it a unique experience. Read moreNice vegetarian restaurant, we stopped here on our way from Rotterdam to the seaside for lunch. Dogs are allowed, but the staff warned me that there were cats inside, so I should think twice about going inside with my dog. I was a bit surprised by what the staff told me, because the day before I asked if I could bring my dog and they didn't say anything about cats. We had lunch, but I have to say the food was good, but nothing special. We quickly ate our lunch and left, we were afraid that cats would come there and that it would be a problem with the dog. Too bad when I asked them if I could bring my dog, they didn't say that there were cats, so we were a bit stressed that our dog wouldn't be able to handle it. We would have left him at home and had coffee and dessert...
Read moreI think they should really consider changing their name because it’s so confusing. We almost walked past this amazing place, not feeling like a soup. They have so much more to offer.
Their menu is full of vegan options, from nice curries to chili sin carne to vegan döner. I took the loaded sweet potato fries with Indonesian peanut stew that contained tender vegan chicken and green beans. And a danish with vegan custard as a dessert. Very tasty.
They have nice tables outside in one of the cutest streets of Alkmaar. And the inside is like a museum. Beautifully relics from the past decorating the place, and full of nice furniture and fun games to play.
Staff is very friendly and attentive as well. Looking forward to come back and try some of the other options....
