Mylos Grieks Restaurant — Restaurant in Alkmaar

We went to this greek restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. The staff greeted us warmly and quickly seated us and brought us our drinks. The starters came shortly after and we had a assorted mix of dips, pita bread, olive tepenade, and mousse of feta with red pepper. It was absolutely delicious. The bread tasted authentic (we were told they bring it from Greece) and served warm. Our main meal took a little longer (we were in a rush), but it was probably the best Greek food I've had in a very long time. We had a mix of shrimp, squid, moussaka, peppers stuffed with feta and other items. We don't eat red meat and the staff were very happy to accommodate our request. We need to head home quickly so our food was packed promptly which we brought home with us. Overall we were very happy with the food quality, presentation, ambience and the service and will come back another day when we have time for a more leisurely lunch. If you order for delivery with a specified delivery time and they bring it an hour early, then offer to bring it back at the correct time, but put your dinner in a warm oven for 45 minutes and dry it out before delivering it at the correct time... 🤦‍♂️ How good do you expect it to be? Had our dinner been fresh I might have a better opinion. Spoke to the owner a day later about it and in a very rude and condescending way told me that he didn't care and to go away (my polite paraphrasing)! (this attitude is what earns you a one star review.)

Maybe others have had better experiences, but I definitely did not and will never spend money here again. I do not recommend this place based on the owner's attitude and the poor quality of the food. Much better food and experience at the other Greek restaurant across...

Πήγα σήμερα ξανά στο Mylos στην Alkmaar, μετά από μερικές επισκέψεις που είχα κάνει ήδη στο παρελθόν, αλλά αυτή τη φορά πήρα μαζί μου την καλύτερή μου φίλη. Παραγγείλαμε αρκετά πράγματα και κάθε επόμενο πιάτο ήταν ακόμα πιο νόστιμο από το προηγούμενο. Ξεχωρίσαμε ιδιαίτερα το χταπόδι και τα κολοκυθάκια, απλά υπέροχα!

Επειδή ήταν τα γενέθλιά μου, η φίλη μου είχε ζητήσει από το προσωπικό να φέρουν ένα επιδόρπιο εγώ είχα παραγγείλει την πορτοκαλόπιτα και ήταν απίστευτα νόστιμη, ζουμερή και αρωματική. Η φίλη μου πήρε την παννακότα και της άρεσε πάρα πολύ επίσης.

Και τραγούδησαν και το τραγούδι των γενεθλίων ως έκπληξη, που ήταν ειλικρινά αστείο αλλά και πολύ γλυκό!!!!!!

Το φαγητό ήταν καταπληκτικό, αλλά η εξυπηρέτηση ήταν ακόμη καλύτερη. Οι άνθρωποι που δουλεύουν εκεί είναι πραγματικά εξαιρετικοί στη δουλειά τους φιλικοί, εξυπηρετικοί και πάντα με χαμόγελο, ακόμα και όταν το μαγαζί ήταν γεμάτο. Ποτέ δεν χρειάστηκε να τους ψάξουμε, ερχόντουσαν συνέχεια να μας ρωτήσουν αν είμαστε καλά.

Σας ευχαριστούμε για αυτή την υπέροχη βραδιά και για το τέλειο φαγητό. Θα ξανάρθουμε σίγουρα εκατό τοις εκατό! ————————————————-

I went again today to Mylos in Alkmaar, after having already visited a few times in the past, but this time I brought my best friend. We ordered quite a lot and each dish was even more delicious than the last. We especially loved the octopus and the courgette – just amazing!

Since it was my birthday, my friend had asked the staff to bring out a dessert I had ordered the portokalopita and it was incredibly tasty, My friend had the panna cotta and really loved it too.

They even sang happy birthday which was so funny and so extremely sweet!!!

The food was amazing, but the service was even better. The people working there are truly great at what they do friendly, attentive, and always with a smile, even though the place was packed. We never had to look for them, they kept checking in on us.

Thank you for this wonderful evening and perfect food. We’ll definitely be back one...
