Nice atmosphere and friendly staff but very average and blunt food. The oat flat white was okay, it came with a small piece of lemon drizzle. The avocado toast with the extra chicken was filling. However, the quality of the ingredients wasn't great. In fact, the grilled chicken looked like those shop-bought pre-cooked pieces of chicken that are found at the supermarket as it was served cold. I visited the cafe twice over my short time in Alkmaar and it's one of the best coffee shops I've been to in the Netherlands. The staff are super friendly, warm and attentive.

Coffee is great, I had a cortado the first time and a cappuccino the second. Both were steamed well with great texture and temperature.

Food is lovely I had a chicken Caesar sandwich and it was delicious and very filling. Also their pasties are great and served warm!

All in all it's a lovely space and if I'm ever in Alkmaar again, I will...

Wow what a great place! We found it by chance. This place is the real deal, it is quality at every turn. Nice atmosphere friendly staff, well designed menu. We have had two meals there and found them to be made from the highest quality ingredients, this is impressive. The dishes arrived in a timely manner and are a visual delight. I ordered a green salad...wow just amazing, the soup is spiced just so, everything we ordered was very well done. Btw this is the only good restaurant we have...
