A spontaneous visit that turned into a great experience! We stopped by on a whim, with no prior culinary expectations – and were pleasantly surprised! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great suggestions to help us choose from the menu. Our kids were well taken care of with tasty children’s meals, and we even got to try the local beer – which was excellent. If this hadn’t been a vacation meal, we’d definitely be coming back soon. But one thing’s for sure: this won’t be our last visit. Thank you for the warm welcome and delicious food!

We hadden gekozen voor een vegetarische en een vis variant en beide waren een sensatie voor de smaakpapillen. De bediening is gastvrij en legt uitgebreid uit wat op het menu staat. De ruimte is sfeervol verlicht en prima om gezellig uit eten te gaan. Misschien een beetje meer aankleding met Ethiopische / Eritrese items voor extra sfeer? Een "ouderwetse" tip, voor wie het ongewoon vindt of minder hygiënisch, was je handen voor je gaat eten. Eet smakelijk.

The service was incredible — and the food? Absolutely delicious, incredibly homemade. The traditional Ethiopian music and the super relaxed atmosphere made it even better. I highly recommend visiting this place. If you’re in Alkmaar, it’s an absolute MUST. Hats off to you guys! Thank you for this amazing experience.

Een betoverende culinaire ontdekking wacht op je bij The Garden, een prachtig nieuw Ethiopisch-Eritrees restaurant dat onlangs haar deuren opende. Gisteravond stapten we binnen in een oase van smaken en gastvrijheid, en ik kan niet wachten om mijn ervaring te delen.

Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk begroet door het vriendelijke personeel, dat ons meteen op ons gemak stelde. De sfeer was warm en uitnodigend, met zachte verlichting en charmante decoraties die een vleugje van de Oost-Afrikaanse cultuur naar voren brachten.

En dan het eten - een ware verrukking voor de zintuigen! We begonnen met een sambussa, daarna de Chef's Special met een scala aan smaakvolle stoofpotjes, vis en en groentegerechten. De kruiden en specerijen dansten op onze tongen, elke hap bracht een nieuwe dimensie van smaak en textuur naar voren. Het was een feest voor de smaakpapillen, vol van diepe, rijke aroma's die onze verwachtingen overtroffen.
