Me and my huband went on a Friday evening and had a reservation. Upon entering we waited at the bar for about 5 minutes before my husband approached a waiter behind the bar. Then another 5 minutes and again we approached a waiter to help us get seated. Another 5 minutes and a waiter comes to our table to take our drink odrer. After saying we do not have the menu he told us to scan a barcode on a wooden cube on the table. Then he aked again what we want to drink. I said I cannot very well order a drink when I have not seen the menu obviously! The waiter shrugged his shoulders and walked on. When we scanned the barcode unfortunately everything was in Dutch, so we felt quite helples and frustrated-how can somebody not realise they are not helping us when he can hear we speak English to him? When he came again, we told him we do not understand it and need help. He said they used to have an English menu but now they do not have it and he cannot help us. Sitting there with one phone in my husbands hand and another one with a tranlsator on trying to work our way through the menu we decided that this is not a service worth one of the best restaurants in town and deicided to leave. A lady waitress who saw us come in asked what was wrong and she seated us in her section. And magically, there was an English menu and an explanation for the soup of the day, the daily catch and chef's special. She was literally the only person capable of delivering a great service and we also received two drinks from the dessert menu on the house. Other than than that the service was attentive but poor. Upon orderig a bottle of wine another waitress could not open the bottle and had another waitress come and help her open it at the open kitchen counter, which is strange to me since the restaurants profiles itself as having a wide selection of great wines-which they had. But they do not know how to open a bottle. The food however, was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We also ordered a plate of shrimps and asked for them to be peeled, of course they did not peel it and had to return it to have it peeled. So, if you are a foodie, expect great food, but tiny table where you will struggle to fit all your amazing dishes and drinks to the point where you will actually leave a bottle on the floor under your table - as suggested by the staff. The atmosphere of the old building is very nice and cosy but does get very busy and people are walking past your table all the time, so not as relaxed as I would imagine. Not sure I will be...
Read moreVery lovely place! We were sitting outside in the glass houses despite staff kindly advising against it because it was a particularly cold day. But it was very lovely, and the warming lamp did its job well. The service was very friendly and professional. From what I could see atmosphere inside was also very nice and cosy. Food was quite good, we had bambas for starter which was very delicious, and fish and steak for meain courses. Both dishes were, unfortunately, quite oversalted for both of our tastes. Side were very good. Overall we enjoyed our visit. Just expected a bit better quality of food...
Read moreIt was a great atmosphere with an open bar and kitchen concept that feels very honest and lets the costumers appreciate the service more. I ordered a Hemingway sour, which wasn't on the menu but the bartender was very nice and looked up the recipe for me. The interaction with the waitress was more than pleasant and you felt that the staff really cared for your comfort and well being. To the drink I ordered a Burrata Salad and it was the best salad I've had in my life really. It is on the spicy side but in the best ways. Thank you for this fully great experience🙏🙏 I can only...
