We celebrated my friend's birthday here and i would never do it again. Part of the food arrived and then the rest of the group was waiting for another hour. Apparently, they had forgotten to place part of the order (even though placed at the same time) and even then didn't manage to fix the situation. Apologized with free Jägermeister and a 10% voucher for next time (why not for the meals gone wrong?). Staff was not attentive and then not really coming with solutions by themselves (how about some bread or snacks while waiting another hour?). The food (besides the chicken) is coming in small sizes (overpriced) and to make a cup of veggie sticks look more they stuffed the bottom with salad leaves while serving it with a teaspoon of hummus. Although open for business, the rear garden was not and no prior notification with rear door locked. We went to the front and were told 1) We could sit outside the front BUT we must collect our drinks ourselves. 2) The bar nearest the door was not staffed. and 3) which does not attract business. The person informed me that there are plenty of cafe's in the Grote Markt which we could use !!!!! No visits again for myself and visitors. The food is beyond delicious. The team of chefs are not only professional in what they do, but also nice at a personal level.
The service is my favourite part. Being in the Netherlands, I was very surprised to see that most places have very low level of service. Very often I got the feeling that I'm more of a problem, than a customer. Here, however, I feel not just as a customer. I feel that I'm a dear guest. Always welcome, always serviced with not only a smile, but a very personal approach. Coming here has become the best part of my day.
