Loetje Almere Centrum — Restaurant in Almere

Went with group of family and friends last night. And it will be the first and the last time for me. I agree that the meat was good. Tender and nicely grilled but it was just tooooo salty. I must say that the food are just basic/ok nothing really special about it. The expensive (€13.00) roastbeef carpaccio for a starter tasted just ok. This restaurant is just way too expensive for the quality of food they serve. The main course (€37.50 meat) doesn't come with a side dish so you need to pay extra for slappy fries with mayo or green salad(€5.50 per bowl). Main courses should come with one side dish included. But all Main courses in this restaurant just came with the meat, extra side dish cost you a lot. I mean for me it's acceptable if the food is expensive but you just need to compensate it with the taste quality. But it was not. One thing I also noticed they don't have Kids menu. Why? Are kids not welcome here? So it was borrelhapjes for my son for dinner 😂. Desserts were ok. Cocktails were ok, too much ice cubes in it. For the price/quality of food and service, it was not worth it. Cons: Liver dish was very salty and oily. Also the dish was not presented in an appetising way which you would expect. Gravy sauce with the steak was way too salty. Also we asked if it would be possible to have the steak as a medium plus, they said yes. But when the steak was served it was medium rare. Service was slow, and they mixed up tables a lot We had reserved a table, but instead of having a table specifically reserved for us, they placed us at one of the very last tables available (which was in a pretty bad location) If we order a bottle, I would expect it to be poured. Not the most romantic date atmosphere

It is beyond me how this place gets a 4+ rating. House speciality is a tiny beef on a huge plate swimming in greese and oil. With NOTHING on the side. That has to be ordered and paid for separately. Had to order a overpriced mediocre salad and overpriced fries any McDonald's can do 100 times better. Service is extremely slow, 3 different servers during my 1 1/2 (mostly waiting for the staff) late dinner. And I still didn't get my dessert and coffee. Even though I ordered it all as I was seated. I am however seeing a pattern in the various restaurants that I tried in Almere. LOUD "restaurants", that Scandinavian countries would call a bar with food. Slow staff and below average dinners hugely overpriced. I have not given a rating this low that didn't crawl with cockroaches and all that implies. Do not go here to eat a nice quiet dinner and expect to get service and quality for the pile of money it costs. Sorry...
