Gang of toy snack — Restaurant in Alto Vista

Ordered the patacon pandillero and I’m not sure if I will find a better sandwich anywhere for the rest of my life.

Wow, just wow.

We were the only customers at the time. As soon as I placed my order Chef Charles Jr. sprung into action and made an absolutely delicious meal with care and joy. It’s clear that he wanted to make the best possible patacon for clueless travellers who knew nothing about anything in Aruba (that’s us).

We took the food back to our airbnb and laughed to ourselves. There are so many people in the hotel areas getting food that is like Chef Boyardee compared to Gang of Toy Snack. And the prices! What we got was incredible AND affordable.

Tonight was our last night in Aruba and we wanted something different for our last dinner here! We hit the jackpot! We had a language barrier right from the start, but they were so kind and helpful to us! They gave us their best suggestions, taught us some new words, and didn't steer us wrong! Mi esposa y yo nos perdimos mientras caminábamos por el area pero afortunadamente descubrimos este lugar donde preparan la comida exactamente como se ve en las fotos. Le comentamos a la señora que nos habíamos perdido y que no sabíamos cómo regresar a nuestro destino, ya que nuestro teléfono no tenía cobertura en la isla. Después de disfrutar de una buena conversación, ella, sin dudarlo, nos ofreció su ayuda y se encargó de llamar a un taxi para llevarnos donde necesitábamos ir. En definitiva, nuestra experiencia en este lugar fue más que satisfactoria, no solo por la comida, sino también por la calidez humana y la amabilidad de la señora que nos atendió (disculpen que no le preguntáramos su nombre). :(

My wife and I got lost while walking around the area but fortunately, we discovered this place where they prepare the food exactly as it looks in the photos. We told the lady that we had gotten lost and didn't know how to get back to our destination since our phone had no coverage on the island. After enjoying a good conversation, she didn't hesitate to offer her help and took care of calling a taxi to take us where we needed to go. Overall, our experience in this place was more than satisfactory, not only because of the food, but also because of the warmth and kindness of the lady who attended us (sorry we didn't ask for...
