Grand Café Sterijn — Restaurant in Amersfoort

Party of 5 on Saturday afternoon. Good experience. We had a reservation for 14:00, showed up an hour early. It was no problem to seat and help us.

Banter and timing of the server was great. Drinks were delivered promptly and dishes were delivered simultaneously.

The dish called "Steak" was a lovely medium rare sliced up steak in a bed salad on a slice of dark brown bread with truffelmayonaise. Tasty, all in good proportion of each other. Bread did get soggy, but not at all in a bothersome way.

Maybe we were just unlucky, but I really don't see how this place has a 4.8-star rating. It took nearly an hour for our food to arrive. The risotto was just okay, and the chicken dish was disappointing—burnt and very small in portion.

During peak dinner hours, one of the three staff members was having dinner themselves, which didn’t help the already slow service. On the positive side, the location is great, the interior is stylish, and the terrace is quite nice. The staff were friendly, despite the delay.

I came here Saturday afternoon for lunch. The place was small but charming, a bit busy because it's lunchtime and the server immediately told that the food will take 30mins, I was ok with that.
