What a wonderful experience this boat trip around the mediaeval part of Amersfoort turned out to be. From the very start where they provide free sunscreen outside their shop whilst you wait for your boat , everyone was friendly happy and helpful. The volunteers driving the boat and doing the commentary were excellent . Because I was the only one speaking English they gave me a lovely classy coloured brochure with all the information …and the history about each of the buildings that we passed . I might’ve missed some of the jokes from the commentator, but I got everything that I needed and it was perfect. I love how clean the canals are …so different from Venice . They have great knowledge.

This tour is one of the nicest gentle activities available in Amersfoort.

Had a lovely experience. Do buy tickets in advance on sunny days as they do sell out. Ask for the big "Johan van Olde Barneveld" boat to be able to sit in the moving direction of the boat for the best pictures. Guides are very very friendly.
