Madonna Amersfoort — Restaurant in Amersfoort

Most unfortunate place to sit for a drink. We had guests from Dubai,, we invited them for a drink in "this place! " Later.... we felt very embaressed of course having done so, compared to the quality service our friends are used to in Dubai.

We ordered drinks around 14:55, on arrival. Waiteress takes the drinks order. We asked for some snacks next to the drinks. She says" we don't have, it's served only at 15:30!! " our intentions was to sit only half an hour. Anyway, we said ok, but do you have some nuts at least? She sayd NO!! you can eat the olives only, she points at a tiny olive tin can which was already on our table. We were four. We had no other choice but to try it. I opened the tan to discover a few olives swimming in an ocean! we were offered small toothpicks with which we were supposed to fish those olives. The mission was almost impossible. I called the waiter, very annoyed at this point. Told him there is too much water in the can we can't pick the olives, can you pls put them in a small bowl. He took it, brought back the same ugly olive tin can back, after emptying it from the water!! ........

The internet was another story, we wanted to check the weather, as it was raining. No connection on our own mobile. We tried their guest wifi, Nothing!! Instead of apoligising or at least showing some friendly approach, they were very diffensive, saying " well , it's an old building" and that KPN network is very weak in Amsterfoort ! ,,,,Just outside their restaurant door, we could immediately connect to our own KPN network!!!!...

I had to write this review, because what happened was unacceptable...

Had a meal here this past week together with my sister. The place is very cute and the food tasted great - we had a Caesar salad, a burger and some dessert. Unfortunately, however, both of us experienced cases of intense food poisoning after this meal. Within 8 hours of having eaten there we were both sick with the same symptoms and have both had to take two sick days to recover. Having considered all of the factors of our symptoms and consulted with a GP, everything points to food poisoning from the meal that we had here. As we had different dishes, we suspect cross-contamination of some kind. Of course, mistakes can happen but this has been a very unfortunate experience which ruined our perception of Madonna. Having contacted the restaurant yesterday to let them know what occurred, I found them to be less than sympathetic and have still not received a meaningful...

Incredibly rude stuff , expect for the manger who is a bald guy ,he is so sweet. Used to go there only for the amazing phily cheese steak but they removed from the menu so definitely not worth my time and money . The ladies are never nice and I'm saying that after visiting it for many times for that sandwich. Terrace is great if they would allow you to use it . Poor coffee quality, horrible ice coffee that is mot even cold . Call yourself a suitable place but they refused many time to hand me a tap water and they want me to buy a bottle of water if I don't order drinks , why to consume more bottles ? Even if you eat by 30 euro they won't hand u water without a drink . The service needs a lot of improvements. The stuff know nothing about customer service giving stressful time...
