Mediterraan Restaurant Celik — Restaurant in Amersfoort

Living in Amersfoort for so many years, how come I didn't notice this wonderful meat lover's restaurant. Tonight me and my wife dined in this Mediterranean restaurant, the dining experience was amazing! The interior decorations of the restaurant is very Mediterranean style and unique! You can see the owner spent time and energy into it!

We ordered a grill meat platter, it serves over 5 different kinds of meat, and tomato flavored rice or french fries as principal dishes, the meats are beef entrecôte, schnitzel, lamb skewers, chicken breast, beef skewers, bacon etc.

You can taste the difference of every kind of meat, they were cooked in different timing, but each one is extraordinary and delicious! Pairing with their house red wine is a great choice!

They serve fresh vegetables and salades all the time, so that the meat won't be too heavy. Mix some of their apple vinegar and olive oil with your salade as you want!

The two gentlemen served us so nicely and warmly once the moment we walked in, we totally enjoyed our time! It's very nice to come together with your friends or family! We happily recommend any meat lover to experience...

Note this review has nothing to do with the food, etc. What it is about is their reservation system and not providing any info to possible customers that they are on holiday.

When you make a reservation online on their website you actually are just contacting the restaurant to request a reservation. The system seems like your standard reservation interface, but you are only requesting a reservation. You then receive an email that says if you do not hear from the restaurant to contact them about your reservation request. This system is unnecessarily convoluted.

We called several times and even left a message but no one answered. We decided to drive over there at our requested time, but turns out they were CLOSED! There was no indication they were closed on their website, nor on Google, nor in their message over the phone. I guess they went on holiday and forgot they might have customers. Sadly, pretty common in this country.

We were a party of 4 and we didn't make reservations beforehand. We were lucky and immediately got seated outside which was perfect because the weather was amazing. The service was excellent, we had more than one waitress and they both very friendly and attentive. The food was good, well seasoned but some of the meat off the grill had a slight bitter taste, the Vienna Schnitzel absolutely made up for it though!
