Bagels & Beans — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Interesting experience buying bagels to go - after paying for my six bagels - I was left at the register without telling or asking me anything. Staff was doing whatever they were doing and not even looking at me. Bagels were ready in the shelf. Do, I was waiting patiently for a while and finally I asked if I could please have my bagels - staff looked at me with a surprise in their eyes 👀 so I explained that I paid for my bagels and did not get any. One answered that she will get them for me from the freezer - at that point you could see my surprise. I explained that I just want 6 bagels that they have right there on the shelves - still surprised by my request - she asked if I want frozen or just from the oven - I repeated that I want the once they have ready right there and that went on for a few more minutes. Finally I pointed with my finger that I want theeeessseee and finally that did do the trick. When I came home I found 5& 1/2 bagels...

Food is always nice, however the staff has been very unprofessional. We were helped last of 3 couples, while we where there first. Did not even get drinks first while the girls served food for the couple who came after us, then another couple gets served first. We ask about out food they rush and forget parts of our order. I ask her where it is and she says she will get it immediately, proceeds to serve drinks to other customers first. I as for napkins, also a hard task. I have been working in retail for a long time and the service culture nowadays in Amsterdam has been dropping dramatically while the prices have been going up dramatically. I have decided I will never pay any tips again, unless the service has been nothing less than fantastic. I urge other paying customers to do the same. Also, every bagels and beans I have been I only see white caucasian staff members..even in Amsterdam West.. what is...

This was the first place we visited when we just arrived in Amsterdam in the morning and most of the other places were still closed.

I had a latte and some avocado bagels (can't remember the exact name of the dish), the coffee was good, the bagel was unexpectedly really really delish! I'm not a fan of bagels, so I was just embracing myself to try the bagel as the name of the place has "Bagel" word in it, so why not? And their bagel changed my favorable towards bagels! It is possible for someone tk make a very delicious bagel, and it's them!

Bagels & Beans is apparently a chain. It's also another surprise that a chain can do such very good food! So, if you're a bagel hater like whom I used to be, you should consider to try bagels in Bagel & Beans. They might change your...
