Our dining experience at Jahagir's Kitchen was a definite highlight of our recent visit to Amsterdam. The food, service, and experience was outstanding from start to finish. We were warmly greeted by one of the two brothers that own this family run restaurant. He briefly described the concept, and also offered to customize any menu items, or perhaps prepare an off menu item if we were really craving something special. The greeting made us feel welcomed and confident in our decision to patronize the restaurant before we even placed our order.
The wait staff did a fantastic job of answering any questions we had, and helped make suggestions. They also offered to customize the dishes and worked with us to find the perfect level of spice for the dishes we chose. The drinks were delightful. I had a frosty cold Kingfisher beer, and my girlfriend had a drink that was creative, beautiful, and delicious! It had coconut milk, saffron, and many other spices. I typically stick to beer but couldn't help but taste the drink just based on the appearance. It was fantastic!
As our food arrived the excellence continued. The chicken cannape appetizer was beautifully presented, and very tasty! The entrees, and bread that followed were without exaggeration the best Indian food that we have ever had the pleasure of eating. The perfect level of spice, incredibly flavorful, and truly magical. Throughout the meal multiple members of the staff checked in to make sure that everything was perfect, and it was. If you're in the mood for some tasty Indian food run to Jahagir's Kitchen! You won't be...

Just wrapped up my second incredible visit to Jahagir's Kitchen in Amsterdam today, and WOW – they've truly outdone themselves! 🤯 Started off with the Roti pe Boti appetizer, and it was the perfect start – tender, flavorful, and just melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
For my mains, I dove into the Chicken Kolhapuri Angara with some perfectly charred Garlic Naan. The Kolhapuri was rich, spicy, and authentically aromatic – truly a masterclass in Indian cuisine. And that garlic naan? The ideal companion to scoop up every last drop of that amazing gravy! 🤤
What truly impresses me is how Jahagir's Kitchen has not only maintained the exceptional flavors from my first visit (and their tasting days!) but has actually elevated them. They are consistently delivering an unforgettable dining experience.
And then there was their unique take on the classic mango lassi drink – it was a revelation! Mixing flavors of kesari with pistachio nuts along with the mango created a strikingly tasty and incredibly unique twist. A definite must-try for anyone looking for something beyond the ordinary. 🥭💚💛
Seriously, if you're in Amsterdam and craving authentic, elevated Indian flavors, Jahagir's Kitchen is your spot. Every dish is crafted with passion and precision. So pleased to have discovered this gem and I cannot recommend it enough!

Atmosphere
The place had a very homely feeling while managing to not be too busy and eclectic. It had a great mix of Indian design and fusion elements of other places. The lighting was subtle and the place had a comforting vibe
Service
We were served primarily by one of the owners of this family business who was kind, considerate, funny, approachable and very knowledgeable. You could sense his passion and eagerness to provide recommendations. The other waitress was also very kind and polite.
The Drinks
As a group we ordered tamarind margaritas, mango lassis and also a boozy mango lassi. These drinks were nothing but absolutely exceptional. I do not think I have had a nicer margarita anywhere. The boozy lassi was presented in a crazy style which was fun and playful.
The Food
We had 4 starters, all of which were amazing. I would highly recommend the Pak Soi dish. That said all dishes were wonderful.
We ordered 4 mains to share between the 5 of us. One lamb curry, one chicken curry, one biryani and one veggie curry. The Dutch in the group wished to have less spice but that did not detract from the quality for me. Each dish had a complex and unique flavour profile that was very satisfying. We also had both butter naan and garlic naan which were tasty and good for scooping...
