Mangia pizza used to be my favorite pizzeria in town till tonight. Had an absolutely terrible experience tonight.

We made reservations via Google 45 min ago - because slots were available. On getting there we were told to wait for 10 min. After 10 min another server brusquely told us it would be 35 min and why did we reserve so late. Why blame customers if you can’t fix your reservation system. All forgiven, we were finally ushered into their Pasta Bar next door.

First we get a menu for pizza, we request if we can see the pasta menu as well. On enquiry, we’re told we can either order pizza or pasta. Given it was busy, we understood. The server came 10 min later, we place our order and he says 1 hr for pizza. Would’ve appreciated being told earlier, but we go for pasta and an appetizer.

They took the order incorrectly, got one with mortadella and then on being pointed out, we get the same dish minus the mortadella. All cold.

Then comes the pasta, mine was a tagliatelle with mushrooms - so cold that the mushrooms had started to form a gelatinous layer on top, it almost looked bad and further not seasoned at all. Even the shaved black truffles (which had lost all flavor) couldn’t save the pasta.

Extremely disappointing experience, and will not be coming back again. Mangia pizza is the only pizzeria I would go to order from, they’ve lost a...

My girlfriend and I dropped by Mangia Pizza on a Wednesday while we were visiting Amsterdam. We saw the 4.5 star rating on trip advisor so we went there to see if it held up to that rating. Upon arriving there were no guests but we went for it anyway and asked if they'd be able to cater to vegans (without cheese). They said it was no problem at all and we quickly sat down. Both waitresses were very friendly and helped us right away since the restaurant was empty. They went further then expected with catering to vegans: they allowed us to switch meat, cheese toppings with veggie toppings without any extra cost which is something we don't get that often in European restaurants. They also brought my girlfriend a glass of tap water free of charge because she didn't want any special drink, again something unusual in Europe. The pizzas came fairly quickly and they were great: thin crusts, crunchy and a good amount of toppings without it being soggy from the grease. When we received the bill, the pricing was very fair for the delicious meal we got and definitely for Amsterdam standards. Lastly, the bathrooms were very clean. We would definitely recommend to stop by this pizza place if you're ever in the area. It lives up to its name and the TripAdvisor reputation is definitely...

The pizzeria has potential - the food itself was very good. BUT there were several problems that made our experience unpleasant. First of all, we had to wait about 45 minutes before even getting any water and service. The waitresses didn't seem care about us at all. The table was dirty. We ordered a bottle of wine and instead got glasses (of the wrong wine too) and had to wait again for that to be fixed. And one of the wine glasses had cork in it. I know it's not anyone's fault particularly, but the front door broke down and people were locked in for a little while causing a lot hassle and discomfort for the customers. Also, one of the bathrooms was leaking. After finishing our pizzas, we asked for the menu to see if we'd want some desert, but after a long time another waitress came to take the menus away and didn't ask us if we wanted anything. By that time we were done with the place and left. At the end there was a waitress asking us how our experience was and she was very friendly and polite. The restaurant has a lot of potentional as said before, but there is a lot to...

We were a group at new year's eve. The food was ok but the service horrible. As a pizzeria it went really slow. we arrived at 20. We got our drinks at 21:00 and our food at 21:45. As for someone who works at a restaurant, this was just embarrassing. Margherita costs 12 which is acceptable, capricciosa 18 and most pizza's are around that price range which would be ok if the service wasn't so bad. Drinks are of low quality, for 23 you will get a bottle of wine aglianico that costs 23, 12,5 and tastes like grape juice, really bad. Beer is either moretti or Heineken or a nice affligem for 5 to 7 euros. As you can see from the review we were disappointed but at least the pizza was nice. But service needs to be upgraded. Come si può essere fiero di avere un ristorante così? L'orgoglio l'hai perso? Tuo pizzaiolo merita lavorare in un posto bello. Guarda Guzzi a Leuven, Belgio. Sono dei italiani bravi che fanno delle buonissime pizze e un botto di soldi. Loro ti insegnano a fare un ristorante/pizzeria buono.

Nice Italian pizzeria with a variety of choices in the menu. I think seasonal pizzas make the difference for this place. If you like to try something interesting go for Orange Fall with pumpkin or if you like porcini mushroom go for Walking in the Wood or order both for two to mix&match. Prices are obviously higher than an average pizzeria in the city and I am not sure if this pricing would worth the experience for very simple pizza types. (like Margherita) So maybe the best bet would be trying something out of ordinary like those pizza choice I mentioned above. Two things: - It smells bad when you sit tables next to toilet - I would expect a better balsamic vinegar to be served ( I pay ~€20 for a pizza here but I use a way better balsamic vinegar at home for a €4 pizza, ???)

Poor experience at this place. The staff appeared not motivated or giving us any friendly face. The menu did not state what is vegetarian/vegan and what not. It took us almost 20 min to figure everything out. The pizzas had quite a few burned spots and at some spots still raw. The taste was good, but not the best. The entrance door of the restaurant seem to be hard to close. It was constantly open and it became cold inside every 3 min until someone from the staff closed it again. The toilet was dirty and messy. The two stars because of the okish atmosphere and the taste of the pizza. There are small easy fixes to make this place to a better one, but for now we will not come back.
