Wat een avondje gezellig uit eten moest worden, veranderde in een frustrerende en onaangename gebeurtenis.

Allereerst was de bediening ronduit onbeschoft. De aan-zijn-kruis-krabbende ober leek totaal geen interesse te hebben in ons als klant. Hij reageerde kortaf op onze vragen en maakte enkele ongepaste opmerkingen. Het voelde alsof we hem eerder tot last waren dan dat hij er was om ons een fijne avond te bezorgen.

Tot overmaat van ramp werd de cappuccino die ik bestelde koud geserveerd. Toen ik dit meldde aan de ober, kreeg ik enkel een zucht en een norse blik. Met veel pijn en moeite zou hij willen proberen een nieuwe cappuccino te maken, maar zonder garantie dat het deze keer wel warm zou zijn. Zelfs toen de nieuwe cappuccino eindelijk arriveerde, was deze nauwelijks warmer dan de eerste. De arrogantie en onverschilligheid van de ober waren stuitend.

Het meest vervelende kwam echter aan het einde van de avond. Bij het controleren van de rekening zag ik dat er 75 cent teveel in rekening was gebracht. Toen ik de ober hierop aansprak, werd ik met een ongeïnteresseerde houding afgepoeierd en kreeg ik te horen dat het 'maar' 75 cent was en ik niet moest zeuren. Zijn minachtende toon en gebrek aan klantvriendelijkheid waren ronduit schokkend. Uiteindelijk kreeg ik het geld terug, maar de hele situatie was ontzettend onprofessioneel en onnodig onaangenaam.

Ze hebben duidelijk geen idee wat klantvriendelijkheid en service betekent. Ik zou deze plek absoluut aan niemand aanbevelen, tenzij je graag betaalt voor een avond vol ergernissen.

What was supposed to be a pleasant evening out turned into a frustrating and unpleasant experience.

First of all, the service was downright rude. The crotch-scratching waiter seemed to have no interest in us as customers. He responded curtly to our questions and made some inappropriate comments. It felt like we were a burden to him rather than him being there to ensure we had a nice evening.

To top it off, the cappuccino I ordered was served cold. When I mentioned this to the waiter, I received nothing but a sigh and a surly look. With great reluctance, he said he would try to make a new cappuccino, but without guaranteeing it would be warm this time. Even when the new cappuccino finally arrived, it was barely warmer than the first. The arrogance and indifference of the waiter were appalling.

The worst part, however, came at the end of the evening. When checking the bill, I noticed that 75 cents had been overcharged. When I brought this to the waiter’s attention, he brushed me off with an uninterested attitude and told me it was 'just' 75 cents and that I shouldn't fuss about it. His disdainful tone and lack of customer friendliness were downright shocking. I eventually got the money back, but the whole situation was incredibly unprofessional and unnecessarily unpleasant.

Restaurant Het Kalfke clearly has no idea what customer service means. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone unless you enjoy paying for an evening full...

Terrible service, do not go here if you're not a rich local! We got there and they asked if we had a reservation, we said no - and they let us sit in one of the tables by the water that didn't have a reserve sign. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to even come over to us, she asked if we wanted any drinks and we ordered waters and a cappuchino, then politely asked for a menu. 15 minutes later she brings us the drinks and menus - no exaggeration. Then, we sat there for 45 minutes waiting for anyone to come over to us and all they did was cater to the rich people around us. I understand if you have a reservation you are more of a priority, BUT we were flat out IGNORED. I saw her look over at us multiple times, and serve the two tables right next to us without even coming over - one of which arrived at least 20 minutes after us. We left without ordering our food, ridiculous. They didn't even bat an eyelash when...

Shocking. Other than the picturesque location next to the river, this was arguably one of the worst services I’ve experienced.

I know generally customer service here is dismal, but this place was beyond the pale.

The lady took about 20 minutes to take our order after actively looking at us and waking past a number of times on a relatively quiet day. She then forgot about our order and after 20 mins she came back and asked us what we’d like to order as though we were a new set of customers. She was very cold/rude with a tone of condescension as though we were in the wrong despite just having say there waiting for 40 mins.

The coffee she brought was accompanied by an out of date coffee milk (expired Nov 21).

I’d give this one a miss- 10 mins cycle up the river and you’re in Ouderkerk which has some great riverside...
