✨Authentic Chinese restaurant, tasty food with great spices~✨
The restaurant uses QRcode for ordering, quite convenient. We ordered lamb skewers, boiled beef, Mao Xue Wang and Lanzhou beef noodles. The food portions are quite large, one speciality dish per person should be more than enough. We also got the big portion of rice, and that was too much for three people. Medium portion should be enough!
The lamb skewers had cumin spices, very nice but I felt like it could be abit more salty 😅
The boiled beef was very tender, the dish also includes veggies. Both seem to be stir fried before dipping in the hot sauce, the smell is super alluring! Extremely recommended dish!
The Mao Xue Wang used similar hot sauce as the boiled beef, and includes spam, crab sticks, duck blood, intestines and veggies. It’s also really tasty!
Lastly the Langzhou beef noodles’s hightlight for me was the coriander sliced within the bowl. Its a great standard noodle bowl with really nice coriander flavouring. Recommend!
If you are interested in authentic chinese food, this is a great restaurant to visit.

Read moreMy first visit to Kokohili was 15 years ago, and back then, it was hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Amsterdam.
I've returned countless times over the years and recommended it to so many friends—it was my go-to spot for authentic flavors.
Sadly, the magic has faded. The interior feels stuck in time with no updates in over a decade, making the atmosphere feel tired compared to newer spots. The menu has shrunk significantly, losing the creative variety that once set it apart.
The food has lost its balance recently, with flavors becoming overwhelmingly heavy-handed:
The Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs were cloyingly sweet, missing their former tangy depth The Signature Eggplant drowned in syrup, lacking subtlety The Crispy Peanuts arrived over-fried
While service remains efficient, the culinary decline is undeniable. It’s difficult to say Kokohili still stands out in Amsterdam’s competitive Chinese food scene, especially with fresher, more innovative kitchens...
Read moreWhen we arrived, we requested a table for 2 and were then told it's a Chinese restaurant. The peculiar manner that we were greeted left us quite surprised; like we didn't know it was a Chinese restaurant?
We found that a rather strange way of being welcomed. Both the food and the dining experience failed to meet our expectations. We were disappointed to find that the menu offered a rather limited variety of options, and the prices were quite steep considering what you got.
Regrettably, the waiter seemed to have disappeared into the depths of the restaurant, failing to return and inquire about our dining experience and if we would like to order another drink. This lack of attentive service was disappointing. Needless to say that we won't go...
