I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my husband's 50th birthday at Ode aan de Amstel in Amsterdam. It was nothing short of spectacular. I planned the event from California, without ever having seen the venue in person. The Ode aan de Amstel team made the entire experience seamless and extraordinary.
From our very first interaction, their professionalism and enthusiasm were evident. They worked closely with me to design the event (including a five-course meal) that was both exquisite and perfectly tailored to our preferences for the event. Their attention to detail was impeccable; every course was a masterpiece, beautifully presented as a fine dining experience.
The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our special event went off without a hitch. They executed our vision with precision, from the elegant table settings to the personalized touches that made the evening unforgettable. The ambiance was intimate yet sophisticated, making it the perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration with friends and family from around the world.
The restaurant also did an exceptional job catering to our specific requests, including special dietary needs (where my son and a few guests had food allergies).
In every way, Ode aan de Amstel exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for a venue that combines exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and a beautiful setting, look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend Ode aan de Amstel for any special event—your celebration will be in the best hands.
Thank you to the entire team for making my husband's milestone birthday a truly magical experience. We couldn’t have been...
Read moreI work at an office nearby and we reserved for a group a two course meal menu, which we were not given choices. That being said, the waiter asked whether we have any restriction or not, when the first dish came, it was beef tartar, and some people, me included did not want to eat. Now this is something very specific, the waiter got mad because she said that she asked about restrictions and we did not say anything about tartar. If you do not give people the choice, the fact that the meat is raw, that should be at least informed beforehand. The ones that refused to eat the tartar we given the vegetarian option but they charged extra for it. the second option was pork, which some people also do not eat, and then we ended up having the vegetarian menu because for a group, there were no other options. I like the place and for us it is very convenient, but they only do group menu if you reserve for a large group, I do not recommend in this case as you cannot choose what is going to be served. If you are going there in a small group perfect, you have a broader menu choice, but for large gatherings I do no recommend, we were a group of...
Read moreThis is my second time with the reservation. First time they said they can not give us a table outside, even though my reservation was for the outer terrace and we needed to leave. At that time their reservation system was open but it became unavailable immediately. I made another reservation two weeks after this has happened, and today we have arrived at the reserved time spot and a lady said that they cannot give a table for outer terrace. This time I didn't leave and insisted so a gentleman came and helped at the end. There's definitely something about their reservation and table organizing system. As a level 7 guide, I strongly suggest everyone who plans to make a reservation here to be careful about this!
After all this the food was really perfect! We have tried the followings: Crab Soup, Caesar Salad, Green Curry Noodles w/Chicken, Sebastian, Grilled Pulpo, Riley and the Smash Burger. All was fantastic. Both the looks and e tastes were awesome. I may clearly say there are real professionals in the kitchen and the serving personnel are great but not the same for the organization about the reservation and the...
