POTAÉ™ (King Kumpir) — Restaurant in Amsterdam

2nd time ordering from this place. The first time I was unhappy with the kumpir I received because it came with sour yogurt instead of mayo (its traditionally served with mayo). Second time, I asked to create my own kumpir and clearly selected mayo, but once again received this disgusting watered down sour yogurt on top instead of mayo. Why advertise one thing and deliver another? How expensive is mayo??? Especially considering you charge extra for it. We love king kumpir! Their potatoes are nicely baked and very fluffy. They cut open a potato and then they fluff the potato with cheese, butter and salt. When it’s all combined, they add a bunch of different toppings. I always take a bit of every topping. Then they add some sauces of your choice. Their Russian slaw sauce is amazing. I always go for the spicy kumpir which packs a nice punch.

The staff is always friendly and laughing which makes the service great.

We tried king kumpir for which this place is famous for, King kumpir uses big potatoes imported from Spain they bake it in the oven for sometime until its cooked and then they cut it half and mix the cooked potato with cheese and butter and then you have to put the salad of your choice, you can put jalapeños kokomer, onion, olives, corn beet root, and many more option are there. This is simply yummy and very filling you would be full for hours once you have it. A must try when you are...
