What an amazing lovely place. First of all I should mention that you have to order at the bar. It says it at the entrance and on the tables. I guess since it was not too busy someone came by our table, explained the menu and took our order.
I had the beef pancake roll, popcorn chicken (I think they call it karage in the online menu) and a coffee pearl milk.
The beef pancake is rich with fresh cucumber, salad, in your mouth melting beef and delicious sauce. Next to it they serve salted and pepered edamame. I was surprised with the size you get for the price. Usually places around that area are much more expensive. Anyhow, that beef pancake was a flavour explosion and worth every penny.
The chicken popcorn was great too. It has a distinctive flavour element that makes it in my opinion stand out from the common karage you usually get in Japanese restaurants.
Finally the coffee pearl milk has the perfect proportions of milk, pearls, and coffee.
Not on ther menu, but it was advertised on a board, I ordered a taiyaki with sweet red beans. Also that was delicious and a good company to my coffee after the meal.
I highly recommend that place and will gladly come back to try more...
Read moreThe food here was amazing! But the service was pretty slow and confusing. We already reserved a table but when we arrived, we had to wait a while as all the tables were taken. We got seated at a 2-person table (though we had reserved for 3) so we were squashed, and when tables next to us wanted to leave we all had to move or risk them knocking into our drinks. We waited a while to order until we finally flagged a server, who then told us we had to order at the counter. They could have said this when they sat us down. Other than that, the food itself was really delicious. We had the Taiwanese satisfaction mixed platter with chicken schnitzel, bites, etc, the fried chicken pancake roll, and the Formosa pancake with corn, ham & cheese. We also ordered hot and cold bubble teas, all of which were amazing. They offer to adjust the sugar amount, which I personally always prefer to reduce. I'd come back to try more dishes, but I think they should communicate better with the customers and maybe step up the service a bit. The sloth-themed...
Read moreI just LOVE this place. They serve very interesting and delicious Taiwanese and Japanese brunch/breakfast dishes. The Japanese pancakes (sweet, in the photo) called in the menu 'Simply the best' absolutely live up to their name, as they are the fluffiest pancakes I have eaten and hands down the best in Amsterdam. They come with some vanilla ice-cream and an assortment of fruits, creating a delicious combo. I liked them so much the first time I went that I convinced my friends to go one Sunday, even though 3 of us (including me) had to bike around 10km (on a surprisingly hot day) to get to that side of the city. But it was 100% worth it.
Also delicious: the Formosa pancake and Taiwanese burrito.
Cool drinks: Pomelo Tea (with actual bits of pomelo in it), the Fentimas Rose Lemonade and the...
