Sweet Asia 勇和烧烤 — Restaurant in Amsterdam

The overall experience was bad. The food tasted just okay, not as good as they recommended on social media. The service was even worse.

We ordered a fish dish which cost €49.5 . It tasted dry, hard and not fresh. After we told the staff about the problem, they only felt sorry, but couldn’t do anything about it, didn't offer solutions neither discount. They just kept repeating that fish is more expensive in Amsterdam, and that all restaurants in the city cook it this way—that this was “normal.” But in reality, other restaurants that charge a similar price usually offer better quality fish and include more vegetables or sides. Here, the dish only came with a few pieces of broccoli and some sprouts—definitely not worth the price.

In the end, problem not solved, we could only accept it and leave. As a customer, 49.5e for food like this is very disappointing. What was worse, we noticed an extra 5.5e charge for the fish on the receipt!! If we hadn’t checked, we would’ve overpaid without even realizing it!! That’s unacceptable! Hi all, I travel a lot and have been to many cities and everywhere I have been went to an Asian restaurant and when I came to Amsterdam of course I wanted to go there too and on the maps I found this place because I wanted to eat very much not even looked at the reviews, going into it I had the impression that I walked into some old hospital smell was terrible, but I did not pay attention to it, I want to mention that the menu is large, but very strange as there is almost nothing understandable, strange pictures, The menu is huge but very strange as it is not very clear, my family and I decided to order the soup, as soon as it arrived, you could see that the soup was far from Asian, as it had hooves, I've never had such an unflavored soup in my life, I never had such a bad soup in my life! After 5 minutes i gave up because hooves floating in the soup was horrible, i dont understand why this restaurant is a disgrace to chinese food culture when i was in china, there was no hint of hooves, it was just outrageous, hooves !!!! Good choice for Chinese. Enormous portions for reasonable prices. Quality is good. A lot of meat. Great option of ordering “small portion” which is rice/noodle with topping of your choice which comes in a box like in the picture. The portion is still quite decent. Taste is also good. If you would like to eat more then go with ordering a dish from chicken/beef/vegetarian mains dishes with choosing a side you like as it will come in two big boxes. We ordered chicken in sweet and sour sauce which came in separate box and side came in another enormous box. The price will be almost the same as for the small portion with a topping of your choice.
