After reading many negative reviews about Authentic India, I felt I should share my own experience - one that has been nothing but positive over the years.
I’ve been visiting Authentic India since 2019, and it’s always been one of those rare places where I genuinely feel at home. I wouldn’t call myself a regular, I probably visit six or seven times a year but it’s a place I look forward to every single time. Sometimes we even drop by just for their samosas (which, in my opinion, deserve a special mention!).
Over the years, I’ve also reached out to them via Google Maps messaging to check product availability, and not once have I been left without a reply. My interactions with everyone there have always been warm, polite, and helpful.
I noticed that some of the recent reviews mention expired products. I completely understand how frustrating that can be, but based on my experience, I truly don’t believe Authentic India does this intentionally. Once, I did happen to bring home an expired item, something I only noticed while putting my groceries away. When I called the store, Mr. C. J. Singh was immediately apologetic and offered a refund on my next visit. When I mentioned that I wouldn’t be returning for several months, he processed the refund right away. That level of honesty and accountability really stood out to me.
I think it’s also fair to remember that as customers, we share some responsibility to check expiry dates before purchasing. Mistakes happen, but how a business responds to them says a lot and Authentic India has always handled things with integrity and kindness in my experience.
It honestly saddens me to see so many harsh reviews when my own experiences have been so different. Authentic India has been a warm, welcoming part of my life here, and I truly hope others continue to give them a fair chance.
Rooting for you, Authentic...

As someone who appreciates good food and service, my experience here was deeply disappointing. The food served was not fresh—it seemed reheated and lacked any real quality. It was also overpriced compared to similar places.
What saddened me even more was the attitude of the staff. When I politely asked questions about the food, I was met with excuses rather than solutions, and the interaction quickly turned unpleasant. The lady managing the place came across as combative rather than understanding, She was super arrogant and to much attitude which was disheartening. If the food is soagy and not fresh they don't throw it they will warm it and still give it to u .
The establishment is run by individuals from the Sikh community, a group I deeply respect for their values of service, honesty, and hospitality. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect those values. It felt like the focus was more on selling overpriced, expired products (frozen items , spices ) than providing good service or quality. Regarding food, anywhere a road side stall is 100times better than this place , in quality , quantity and most importantly serving Behaviour
To anyone considering a visit: please double-check reviews, prices, and expiry dates, especially for frozen items. While groceries might still can consider if you don't have any other options around with caution, I cannot recommend their food takeaway services.
I hope this feedback helps others and encourages them improve their standards to reflect the values...
Read moreI completely agree with the one-star reviews. The lady is so rude—actually, "rude" is too mild for her, she is just ridiculous. Just because I broke one bhindi (okra), and I didn’t even put it back in the container, she suddenly started shouting at me.
I’m writing this review two days later, and I’m still wondering how someone can behave with a customer like that. How can someone insult a customer in such a way?
There were four staff members in the shop, but she was the only one shouting at me,continuously shouting. Her husband was there too, and he didn’t even utter a single word about how she was behaving. I have never experienced such behavior from a shopkeeper, and I had even paid for that one bhindi.
And why did I break the bhindi? I was just checking if it was fresh or not, because it has happened to me before that I bought bhindi from this store two or three times, and they were so bad that I couldn’t even cook them.
I will never visit this store again, and I strongly suggest reading the reviews before entering.
Edited Oh yes, of course—I was the one spoiling your vegetables by checking one bhindi for freshness (which I even paid for). Silly me for making sure it wasn’t the same bad quality I’ve gotten from your store before. And thank you so much for that pani puri packet expiring the very next day—such a great example of freshness! But I get it—you were too busy fighting with me to even bother checking the expiry date....
