Meh coffee, overpriced pancakes and not very friendly owner.

Went there for coffee, my girlfriend also wanted the Nutella and banana pancake. The pancake was €12 and it was nothing special, in fact disappointing. It was a small pancake (~20cm) with a third of a cut banana inside, some sprinkled cinammon and a 25 gram Nutella pot on the side so that you spread it yourself. In my opinion €12 is a lot for such a mediocre piece of pancake and I told my opinion to the waitress who then transfered it to the owner. After a while the owner came to our table and she addressed our opinion with a defensive attitude. She first said that it's expensive because Nutella is expensive (it's the 1/6th of the whole price, 2/12 euros). I argued that because a normal pancake is €10 euros for them, but a Nutella pancake is €12 so it doesn't cover that much of the price. She then made a comment about the whole prices in the city center and how she has the cheaper options for pancakes, which is not true, there are places with better pancakes for a better price, I don't know if I'm allowed to mention therefore I won't. We expressed our thoughts about the price of what we ordered(panenkoek met nutella en banaan) being high for the quality we received, and the owner came to us with an aggressive way to justify it because “nutella is expensive”(we only got 25g of it). Then she mentioned that she speaks Dutch and so do the employees there which i don’t even know what she meant by that because we speak English, and why did it even mattered, as language had nothing to do with the whole conversation....

This place is a gem in the centrum! The communication from very friendly & helpful staff make you feel welcomed. Foods are served in big portions, cosy atmosphere..The prices are certainly reasonable. I can recommend cevapcici as the taste is exceedingly delicious. We would love visit here again when...
