I am excited to visit this restaurant, three weeks after its opening, as there have been many positive rumors circulating. However, I must say that they need to make some improvements if they are aiming at this level.
The restaurant is in a perfect location and boasts a beautiful ambient color palette in the garden. We arrived early, as they open at 5 PM, and requested to change tables to a couch, which was reluctantly granted despite many available seats even when we left. The service was satisfactory, yet the staff appeared more focused on preparing tables and their surroundings than attending to us. I ordered wine with my starter, but it was forgotten and only served after I had finished the dish, despite a friendly reminder.
For the main course, we had lobster spaghetti and tartar. Both dishes were acceptable, but nothing extraordinary, and they left me feeling that they were overpriced. The lobster was slightly overcooked, and the tartar was moderately harmonized. However, the desserts were exceptional, the Scroppino and Crepe Suzette.
I must commend the Dutch-Haitian staff member who added some liveliness to the service. Nonetheless, I was disappointed overall, as the experience did not offer value for money. Additionally, we were billed for an extra glass of wine that was never served, which we only noticed upon reviewing the bill at home.
In conclusion, while the restaurant shows promise, their current level of performance and quality is not...
Read moreAs a frequent traveler to Curaçao, I have been to every restaurant in the area and would specifically not recommend dining here as the service and customer management skills do not match the price point. After barely being greeted by a disinterested host, we were offered 3 choices for a table to pick and we picked one corner table. After settling in and ordering our water to start, a server approached us to let us know we would have to change tables and move to the other corner table because “this one was reserved for a guest that specifically requested this one and would not take the other”. It did not matter to them how clearly disrespected we felt to be moved after being seated and served. The treatment left such a sour taste we debated leaving the establishment altogether at that point and perhaps should have. The other table was the only one in the room without a tablecloth which almost felt intentional. There was no sincere apology or any attempt to appease the situation. The food and drinks that followed were mediocre for the price and we overall regretted picking this place for our last night on the island. Goes to show just slapping a French name and white decor does not make a...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and overall had a pleasant experience. The food was nice, , the service was great—staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere had a cozy and inviting charm that added to the overall appeal.
However, there are a couple of downsides worth noting. The indoor seating arrangement is quite cramped; the tables are placed too close together, which makes it difficult to have a private conversation. At times, it felt more like being packed in a sardine can than enjoying a relaxing meal. If you’re looking for an intimate or quiet dining experience, this might not be the best choice.
Additionally, the lighting inside needs some attention. It was oddly inconsistent, shifting from bright to dim throughout the evening, which was a bit distracting.
All in all, a good spot for nice food and friendly service, but if privacy and ambiance are high on your list, you might want to consider other options or ask for an outdoor table which seems...
