With just 15 minutes before they opened, we were desperate to escape the island heat and sip on something cold. That’s when Juninho—one of the warmest and most genuine people we've ever met—invited us in with a huge smile. Even though the bar wasn’t open yet, he brought us iced water and menus so we could relax and cool off. The ocean breeze flowing through the space was absolute heaven after a day on the beach.
Juninho shared stories and local tips that made us feel instantly connected—not just to the restaurant, but to the island itself. He had our food orders in right at 6 PM, and from that point on, the experience only got better.
We started with the smoothest Strawberry Daiquiri and a dreamy island Piña Colada. Instantly refreshing. Then came the food: the Blues Seafood Paella and the Blues Vega Salad with perfectly grilled shrimp. I had just come from Portugal and Spain, and I can honestly say that no dish I had there could compare to this Paella. The seafood tasted freshly caught, the rice was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. As a Carolina Gullah Geechee girl, I know good rice, and this was it.
We capped the meal with a Piña Colada Cheesecake that was so good, I’m ready to book another flight back just to have it again!
Please, if you're visiting Curaçao, put this place at the top of your list. Watch the sunset while waves crash beneath your feet. The atmosphere is magical, and the people make it unforgettable.
Special love to Shacepha for her kindness, and a warm shoutout to the owner's son who came over to make us feel even more welcome. You’ll feel the love from the...
Read moreWe made reservations for Thursday night because of the jazz music. Music was amazing. Our waitress was lovely.
We ordered the bread platter and were disappointed to find all the bread was covered in seeds (pumpkin) seeds. I cannot eat that due to an allergy. I maybe should have asked, but I feel like the menu could have also specified it was not plain bread. We asked the waitress if they had any non-pumpkin seed bread. She asked how many I wanted and I said just 1 piece. They delivered 3 pieces (very nice right?). I ate two pieces because they were there. When she came back she said she was going to take the 1 leftover piece back to the kitchen so they could see that I didn’t eat it and only charge me for 2 pieces. I didn’t say anything- I don’t mind paying, but you brought more than I asked for and then charged me for eating it? Not right.
My husband had the lentil dish which he enjoyed. I had the seafood pasta which arrived with unknown chunks of fish. I inquired and was told that they were “probably” tuna or salmon, which was not listed as being in the dish. I eat shellfish but not actual fish, so I would not have ordered it.
Take away- properly list items and ingredients on the menu so guests can make...
Read moreI wish I could give more stars simply because of how attentive and on the ball our waiter, Dijon, was but unfortunately he was let down by the rest of the experience. If you call yourself a blues bar with live blues then maybe playing blues music should be a requirement of that (there was none). Also we booked a table at 6pm with the idea to watch the sunset. We arrived and only one other table was occupied in the whole restaurant however we were still shuffled into a little corner without a view of the sunset at all. I asked to be moved and was told In a rather hostile way that the entire restaurant was fully booked, most of the tables actually didn’t fill up until after the sun set which made the whole situation even more frustrating.
On the whole the food was okay, the band was talented at doing pop covers but no blues and the service of Dijon in particular was great but others far below par. Also a small tip- keep your limoncello in...
