I recently visited Cafelito for Mother's Day brunch with my family, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Despite arriving promptly at 10 am and placing our orders by 10:30 am, we didn't receive our food until noon. This lengthy wait was particularly frustrating given that other groups who arrived after us were served much more promptly.
The most frustrating part was when we noticed that a table next to us received our order, despite ordering the same thing. Despite our attempts to flag down the waitress, our concerns were ignored until Robert(he was super friendly, he made the day a lot better) stepped in and offered some complimentary drinks. While this gesture was appreciated, it didn't fully make up for the two-hour wait and the feeling of being neglected.
Additionally, while the brunch special was advertised as being served on a beautiful three-tier plate setup, our plates arrived on basic dishes. This inconsistency made us feel like our dissatisfaction was somehow unwelcome.
Overall, the food itself was mediocre, (eggs and bacon was cold) earning a 5/10 rating. However, the poor service and lack of attention to detail left us feeling incredibly disappointed, especially on a day meant for...
Read moreWe arrived at 3 o' clock. Asked if we could still sit to eat. We were 5 people. They sat us down, a very polite young man was serving us. But as soon as it was 4 o' clock. The lady behind the counter, turned the music OFF. The lady that was cleaning was mopping the WHOLE TIME around us while we were eating. Even gave a comment of "mira la hora" (look what time it is). We asked for dessert. The lady behind the counter was mumbling what dessert they had, we could clearly feel how upset she was. At the end we asked for tiramisu and we got them in the to-go container!! This is unacceptable. If you cannot treat a client properly and you want to be gone by 4 o' clock you shouldn't have accepted us when we came. Cause we asked if we could still sit down to eat. We paid a load amount of money and the burger's bread was very stiff, and the meat tasted like processed meat we could've bought at the supermarket. The young guy was the ONLY person who...
Read moreIt seems people don't know that Cafelito has a dinner menu, as when we went to try it (after seeing the menu at breakfast) the place was empty which is a crime.
I came for the Picanha, and to my pleasant surprise it was cooked perfectly with a nice sear, including the cap. I've been looking for a place on the island that cooks steak with a proper sear, and I was extremely happy with my meal here. It was a perfect medium rare. I've tried getting steak at over half a dozen restaurants and have been disappointed 5/6 times.
My friend got the spaghetti carbonara and that was excellent as well. The fries that came with the Picanha were great with the truffle mayo and with the salsa (cowboy butter) that the steak came with, it was hard to choose between the two sauces. We...
