Kafé 5999 — Restaurant in Curaçao

The island of Curacao with all its vibrancy, isn't an island of waking up early. ;) Finding a great breakfast is hard. Harder than finding someone in a hurry on the island. Lol This little coffee house is spectacular. Locals as well as tourists frequent this business. It is a super cute atmosphere and hey, free Wi-Fi. Always a plus. We have eaten there many times. Great location to network. Steak and Eggs Tacos are to die for. Nom Nom. Shredded beef that is juicy and flavorful over mini tortillas, topped with everything that makes it worth getting up in the morning. Pequeños Grilled Club Sandwich is another fav. Even though it is called Pequeños... There is nothing small about it. Super big flavor. Stop on by, sit and get an XL Cappuccino my personal fav. I have a son and we just got done with final exams... As a former barista myself I’m super picky when it comes to coffee, but the coffee at Kafé 5999 ticks al boxes! They even have minor figures oatmilk, which is one of the better oatmilks out there. Their menu is diverse with plenty of options, so deciding was a tough call. Also if your not into coffee they have plenty of options such as golden milk, matcha or black sesame latte (I can highly recommend!). Staff is super sweet and professional. There’s a little feedback I would like to give: I believe the pancake stack could use a little bit more love. Maybe add spices as cinnamon and kurkuma to the batter for more depth. Even though I enjoyed the pancakes, I did miss some flavouring, now they tasted rather plain. Having that said, I would definitely visit Kafé 5999 again for the delicious coffee, the amazing service and to try out...

This is a very cute breakfast spot but surprised how it got good reviews for the food. The food was not good at all. It's low quality, not made to order precooked food. Chicken and waffle with very fatty piece of thigh meat, the breading tasted of burned overused oil, waffle not freshly made and stale. The breakfast club was very ordinary as well with fatty pieces of bacon. No flexibility on the menu as it seems everything is premade and not to order. The service was okay, the person who sat us was very friendly gave use choices where to sit and brought us menu and drink quickly. Our server however was not very friendly. After hearing our disappointment with the dishes they removed the cost of the chicken and waffle, they didn't have to but we appreciated the gesture. I don't think we will return...
