My sister has cerebral palsy and we have lived on the island for over 30 years now, frequenting our favorite restaurants (including Larry’s) every weekend. She cannot walk on her own and requires at least one person to hold her at all times. Opening a restaurant door and holding her at the same time is really hard work. Over the years, we have visited Larry’s VERY often because it’s easy to get to and the food is some of her favorite. They DO NOT have handicapped parking and I have brought this to the attention of many managers over the years. They have been nice enough to let me park close to the door so it’s easy to get her inside when I’m alone with her. Once in a while a waitress will come over to tell me I can’t park there, see my sister, and realize that due to their ignorance of not having a handicapped parking spot, they let me park and even help me get her inside. Today (September 28th) one particular manager (Catalina) insisted I move my car after we spent 10 minutes getting my sister inside. I was with two other friends and she told me to leave my sister with them and go outside to move my car. I told her I couldn’t leave my sister with my friends as she wouldn’t sit with them (my sister has developmental disabilities and won’t sit with strangers). I explained that I always park there and it was not obstructing any cars and one of the reasons I choose Larry’s is because of the accessible parking for my sister. She said it was not her, it was the owner who was insisting on this and he wasn’t there. She told me I need to move it or leave, so my friends suggested we leave. It took another 10 minutes to get my sister out of the restaurant (she was hungry and upset at what was happening and she didn’t fully understand). Service: The service is okay . The waiters and waitresses do their very best to keep you happy (there are occasional mistakes in orders but that’s okay since they fix it) I’d give them 5 stars
But the manager? He needs a lesson in customer service. He’s very rude
Vibe: It’s a sports bar and restaurant so there’s TV’s with sports. I like the warm feeling of the yellow lights. The only downside for me as that the music tends to be just a bit too loud
