During our multi-week stay in Delft, their goods provided the backbone of our meals at our home away from home.

Their products are a contrast to the more traditional bakeries in town—which uphold the traditionally preferred style of fast rise, white flour, soft crumb and crust breads and other traditional bakery goods.

In the Dutch market, they carve out their own space to offer artisanal breads that are on par with some of the best bakeries around the world who produce this style of bread.

In addition to the breads, don't miss out on the scrumptious sweet baked goods such as the incredible cardamom bun, their array of cakes, cookies—and focaccias.

If you're local, you're not to be disappointed if you're looking for this style of bakery goods.

If you're from abroad and expect the likes of Poilâne or Ten Belles in Paris, Tartine in San Francisco, you're going to be right at home here. (That being said, if you're from abroad, frequent the other traditional bakeries, too—there are some wonderful spots in town for traditional Dutch baked goods.)

Visited Meneer Leffers, a charming bakery in Delft near Oostpoort. Known for their exceptional Cardamom Buns, we couldn’t resist taking some away to enjoy by the scenic canals of this picturesque part of the city.

We tried both the Cardamom Bun and the Choco Bun, and they were absolutely delightful. The perfect balance of a slightly burnt, caramelized exterior with a soft, flavorful interior made every bite unforgettable. The spices and sweetness blended beautifully, making it one of the best buns we’ve had in Delft.
