Friends of the Past — Restaurant in Deventer

Despite being somewhat used to Dutch bitter coffee, even my latte macchiato tasted burnt. The cookie with the coffee was a little bit stale. On the other hand, the cakes, especially the apple pie, were very tasty! Furthermore, I have to highlight the staff who is very friendly.

The location is a bit unfortunate. During spring months, the place is permanently in shadow in the afternoon. Sitting outside during windy days might not be as pleasant.

The opening time is also very nice; one of the only places in Deventer where one can get a coffee...

Nostalgic place, great playlist, friendly staff, the latte macchiato and the Deventer Koek Taart is a great recommendation. Prices? Not higher or lower than anywhere else in NL. We are in 2024... not 1999... fijne...

De tafels waren erg plakkerig. Wij vroegen of er een doekje overheen kon, en we werden aangekeken met een scheve blik. Bij binnenkomst oogt het erg rommelig, en ik denk dat dat een poging tot deco is. Het personeel is erg jong, en daardoor voelt het erg onprofessioneel. De bitterballen waren wel lekker. De cappuccino was ook wel lekker. Mijn tip aan jullie: af en toe een doekje over alles heen halen, vooral als jullie anders toch niks te doen hebben. Wij snappen dat niet alles perfect schoon kan zijn maar er kan wel iets meer gepoetst worden. De wc was ook vies, maar wel lief dat jullie denken aan de dames door maandverbandjes...
