The food is alright and there is a nice atmosphere. My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary dinner. Everything went okay until we wanted to order dessert. We waited for more than half an hour but to no avail. Some waiters even looked in our direction but failed to notice our gestures. This was a bit frustrating as some older couples next to us had way better service so we felt ignored. Then when it came time to pay the bill my boyfriend rounded up the bill with a euro to make it easier to receive change. The host there misunderstood and gave us too little change back. Mijn broer is vandaag jarig, en daarom wilden wij dat met onze moeder vieren en uit eten bij La Candela. Helaas is dat nogal anders uitgepakt.

Wij kwamen aan om kwart voor 5, en om 5 voor 5 werd het ons toch te koud en zijn we naar binnen gegaan. We waren de allereerste gasten, en bestelden bij Maraugi drinken en daarna eten. Alles was goed, tot we om 5:25u nog steeds geen eten hadden. We begonnen ons af te vragen wat er aan de hand was, vooral omdat mensen die na ons aankwamen hun eten al hadden. Enige tijd later is mijn moeder naar Maraugi gegaan om te vragen waar het eten blijft, omdat we maar tot 6u parkeergeld hadden betaald. Hij antwoordde "had dat dan gezegd, jullie wachten nog helemaal niet zo lang." Wat ik erg ongepast vind. Ik werk zelf in een restaurant, en ik weet best dat een calzone iets langer duurt dan de pasta's, maar er kwamen meer en meer takeaway mensen die hun bestellingen ophaalden, en wij hadden om kwart voor 6 nog steeds niets te eten gehad.

Er zijn 100 manieren om dit op te lossen (wat te drinken, brood, etc) maar wij kregen niet eens een sorry. Drie kwartier nadat wij waren aangekomen in het restaurant hadden meerdere mensen al gegeten en waren vertrokken, terwijl wij nog helemaal niks gezien of gehoord hadden. Op dat moment besloten we te gaan. Ten eerste omdat er geen enkele reden is waarom de eerste tafel in een restaurant na drie kwartier geen eten heeft, ten tweede omdat de service niks deed om het goed te maken, en ten derde omdat we gewoon niet langer konden blijven zonder een bekeuring te krijgen.

Maraugi liet ons het complete bedrag betalen en gaf ons eindelijk het eten to go mee. Nog steeds geen sorry, geen uitleg, helemaal niks. Zoals gezegd werk ik zelf in een restaurant, en ik zou me schamen als ik mijn gasten zo behandelde als dit restaurant. Erg jammer, ik zou het...
