Last Sunday, a friend and I spontaneously decided to check out Tentje Teman in Enschede after making a quick call — and wow, what a fantastic decision that turned out to be!

From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed with genuine smiles and a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. It felt like walking into a hidden gem where time slows down and the only thing that matters is good food and good vibes.

The service was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating, especially considering we just dropped in without a reservation. It’s rare to feel so looked after without any fuss.

I like the system they have in this place. They say they want it to be that you're eating out while still having the feeling of being at home. So it was pretty much self-serve ... homely decors that make you feel like you're in your own living room You get your own drinks from the ref You get whatever utensils you want from several stations they placed in the area You go to the counter to order. They have some menu combination options to choose from and once you make your choice of what combi meal, you're presented with the options you have for meat, veggies, and sides.

Basically, it's a create your own plate concept!

Everything we had was extremely good, I couldn't even think what my favorite was among the food we had. The rendang was spicy yet very flavorful, and the meat was so tender.. just like the daging smoor! The gele rijst I got was also so nice, fluffy, and had a buttery flavor.

Service was also superb as we were attended to very well, staff were friendly and the lady really explained everything to us well - from the resto concept to the food.

Definitely another one to recommend in Enschede and another one to keep...
