After spending a rainy afternoon at a food festival in Amsterdam, we're looking for some pizza on our way back home. A quick search on Google pulled up CIROPIZZA. And oh man, so glad we've ended up here.
The pizzas here are authentic Italian. Vincenzo (the owner) was born in Napoli and lived in Verona for a long time, so for sure he knows how to do pizza. He mainly uses Italian ingredients. We had a capricciosa. It was was simple, yet superb. The bottom was so crispy. We really enjoyed it. The store mainly focuses on takeaway and delivery, though there's a little bar inside and some seating outside. No road in front, so quite a good spot to chill a bit.
Aside from the pizza's, service is phenomenal. I asked for no mushrooms on my pizza. Due to a little mishap mushrooms did end up on the pizza, but Vincenzo (the owner) discovered before serving it. While I indicated it wasn't a problem he was so kind to still take them off. Such a nice gesture. Vincenzo is very talkative and loves to have a chat with his customers. We ended up talking for nearly 30 minutes about pizza, culture, language, and all kinds of stuff. Really passionate guy who loves good relationships with his customers. Glad...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but I’d definitely call myself a foodie. And honestly, this place blew me away. Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had (and that includes places I’ve tried in Rome, Milan, Florence, and Venice).
Every ingredient tastes incredible, like it was chosen with care. One bite of those little yellow tomatoes and they just burst with flavor. The dough is absolute perfection. Fluffy, light, not soggy in the middle, with a crunchy, golden crust. And the complementary tiramisu was so creamy with insanely good quality mascarpone and a deep coffee flavor.
You can really tell the chef is passionate about what he does. It shows in every detail. Spots like this deserve to be hyped up. They put so much heart into what they do, and it truly shows.
Lastly, I strongly suggest to eat it right there. It would be a disgrace to eat this heavenly pizza...
Read moreBackground: I don't like Napolitan pizza and I'm a fan of Roman style pizza so trying out this Verona style pizza was a try out for me. I usually don't eat pizza often and when I do I used to order at a chain pizzeria.
This all has changed after trying the pizza of CIRO. After talking to the very nice and passionate owner Vincenzo I have ordered a marinara pizza (best pizza for quality test) and it blew me away. This is by far the best pizzeria I've ever tried and Verona style pizza has become my new favorite!
The pizza-dough is perfect and the crust is very airy and crispy, made with top quality ingredients. A must try for any foodie!
CIRO pizza is now my to-go-to place and I have ordered at least...
