Eetcafé het Leven — Restaurant in Leeuwarden

The location is very nice, and it's cozy inside. It's perfect for nice weather on the terrace. It's big enough and very comfortable. They also have a nice corner for kids with Lego, which is a bit dark, but that doesn't matter; the kids can nicely entertain themselves there.

Regarding the Staff, the service is very poor. They are very nice people, but service-wise, they have a lot of opportunity to improve. Our orders took ages, even for drinks, which shouldn't take long. For a bottle of water, we waited almost an hour. Normally, when you go to a restaurant with kids, people are aware that they may be hungry earlier, so they ask if they should bring their food first. Of course, here it didn't happen, and that's one of the basics when you are familiar with having diners with kids.

It's one of my favorite places in Leeuwarden to have lunch or dinner. They have a nice menu and i noticed they change it regularly, there aren't many places here in Leeuwarden that change their menu regularly, i think it's refreshing and it will certainly keep me interested. The food I've had here was great every time. I can notice they do their best, i could taste it's their passion to make food. The personnel is very friendly and it didn't take very long before i could order food. But I'll add it wasn't very busy this time.

I want to give it 5 stars but I'm not really into the kindergarten school classroom look personally. For surroundings i would rather go for a classy restaurant look. But at least they dare to be different from...

Just passing through we discovered this place by chance. My wife had the pasta met gambas: very good and only €8!! I had the best burger I had in at least 10 years. At €6,50 an absolute insult to the cook!! A very tasty bun. Not the usual eisberg lettuce. The tomatoes were grilled (yes grilled!!). Not just some sliced pickles from some jar, but fresh cucumbers in long juliene. Normally there is bacon, too, but I asked not to. Almost forgot the hamburger paddy: real fresh beef cooked just right, still pink on the inside. All these excellent ingredients, cooked with creativity for a mere €6,50!
