BUUR Brakkenstein — Restaurant in Nijmegen

Been here a few times now for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is ok, though it could do with a bit more warmth.

The food looked good, and tasted ok. It's not a fancy restaurant with wonderful food, but it's good in general.

Service is kind and usually prompt. Even though it took almost 15min before all our drinks were finally served (2 people got theirs right away, then 2 more 5min later and the rest appeared to have been forgotten. This felt very strange. Once you start serving drinks, one would expect you'd finish it before starting serving someone else. But apparently that wasn't the case here.

So far Buur is the best place to eat and sit outdoors that we've found in the Brakkenstein area. Defining features are friendly staff, nice location, good beers, and (to me at least) most importantly decent food. They have a few staples and switch some others seasonally. A group of 8 of us went for dinner. Very interesting menu with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. I normally love a good piece of meat but I decided to go for the roasted, curried cabbage.
