Harbourlights — Restaurant in Noordwijk

Last visit was a disappointment.

Unfortunately the staff made us wait a long time while the terrace should have been open already. they saw us waiting, but kept chatting to each other. That is not welcoming, and sufficient reason to visit the restaurant next door.

Before that (before COVID) we visited this restaurant several times and our impression then was more positive: hospitable staff, nice beer list, tasty snacks at a reasonable price. terrace is spacious and sunny, atmosphere is casual and cozy.

Therefore: one star deduction so that the rating comes to two stars.

Last week, I received an apology, 9 months (!) after my review: "Sad to hear. Hope it was an incident. We are happy to receive you for a resit".

As far as I'm concerned, a second chance is of course possible. The fact that the Google reviews are being read now (even if it is after 9 months) could be an indication that their customer opinion is taken seriously. I'm curious. When I went there was no menu, only a qr code. The menu qr code has lower prices than what is on your bill. Every other restaurant I have been to respects the menu prices and does not change them on you. I don't know what the Dutch laws are in most places but that's illegal in my country, it's considered false advertising. Gemütlich, gut besucht, kleine Speisekarte die aber keine Wünsche offen lässt. Wir haben uns für 3 Vorspeisen entschieden, Garnelen in Knoblauch Chilli Öl, Champignons mit Käse und Knoblauch überbacken und einen Brotkorb mit 3 hausgemachten Dips. Alle 3 Gerichte waren Spitzenklasse, frisch zubereitet, schnell serviert obwohl es sehr voll war und es war perfekt abgeschmeckt. Die Servicekräfte waren alle sehr jung, aber sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, mit der deutschen Sprache sind wir nicht weit gekommen, was aber überhaupt kein Problem darstellt wenn man Englisch Grundkenntnisse hat, und wenn nicht, dann reicht es auch mit dem Finger auf das Produkt seiner Wahl zu zeigen :) Die Auswahl an Getränken vor allem Bier, ist unfassbar groß ( ich glaube es gibt 10 verschiedene Biersorten frisch vom Fass, und noch ca. 100 weitere Sorten an Flaschenbier) ich hatte 2 frisch gezapfte Guinness (lecker) eine Biersorte (Flasche) ist mir aufgefallen und im Gedächtnis geblieben, Guinness mit salted Caramel und einem Schuss Milch!!! Wer's mag :-D Wir saßen draußen auf der sehr gut besuchten und gemütlichen Terrasse, die auch kleine heizstrahler parat hat, falls es mal etwas frisch wird. Fazit: Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und werden beim nächsten Noordwijk Besuch auf jeden Fall wieder ins Harbourlights gehen. Vorher am nur 200m entfernten Strand den...
