In brief: it's a great place to impress your date. For other reasons I would skip this, the amount of food you get for the course menu is just enough not to feel hungry.
The sushi here is better than the all you can eat places. It's not the best I've ever had though, it's quite a bit off from that.
I decided to go for the 4 course menu. They also offered a 3 and 5 course menu. Usually more courses means you get to try more and you get less per course (allowing you to try more). Here I devoured some rice they gave with a dish because I was still hungry up to that point.
The service was excellent, especially the woman. Super friendly, accommodating, etc.
You're able to either sit and see them prepare the sushi, sit at a high table or a regular table. The place itself is small, I'd recommend making a reservation. Seeing them prepare the sushi can be quite nice, though I opted out of it.
I'm quite annoyed that the 4 course was so limited in the amount of food. In other upscale places you'll also not easy too much but here it felt quite off. Needing to go crazy on rice, despite the rice being nice, just to not feel hungry? I rather go...
Read moreI've eaten at this restaurant many times and it has always been good. But today, I ordered from Kyatcha for a special occasion and I'm very disappointed. I ordered a family set and I instantly noticed the colour of the tuna. I've had tuna many times and I know how it is supposed to look, but this time it looks dark and pale. It smells like rotten raw beef and tastes rotten too. It was absolutely disgusting and I wanted to vomit. I even called the restaurant and they told me that they knew about this tuna being bad... but they still thought it was okay to serve it to their customers? This is not okay. What if this affects my health? Sashimi is supposed to be sushi grade and actually edible. Not this...
Read moreI can really recommend this place. They know what they're doing and they're damn good at it. It's definitely the best japanese food we've had since actually having been to Japan. Service was great too, I had quite some dietary restrictions (which I asked about in advance) and they went out of their way to accommodate for that. The restaurant itself is small so it doesn't feel crowded at all, and the bar seats and open kitchen really reminded me of Japan :)
If you're looking for one of the better Japanese places in Rotterdam, this is the...
