Shizuoka matcha panna cotta was okay. Because there’s no customising option it comes at regular sweetness and regular ice. Ice was luckily not a lot (barely) but it is really sweet (to the point where my stomach was feeling a bit weird). Matcha was good, but a tad grainy. Overall I would’ve liked it at 50% sweet and honestly I rarely ever say anything is too sweet. It is definitely pricier and I’m not completely sure if it’s worth it or not..(€7,65) Service was just normal. Took my order and gave me the receipt so all in all not bad but not great. Giving out the drinks is not optimal. Customers are called upon number, but you’d have to be a really good listener and have to pay really good attention because you can barely hear them calling. Especially if you are waiting outside.
Packaging is cute for the panna cotta drinks. It comes in a plastic bottle which you can reuse as a vase if you want. If they really want to think with this generation they should see if they can offer the panna cotta in a plastic bottle that customers can return for a discount on their next drink. Every country is heavily focusing on diminishing the amount of plastic waste. So the fact that they use pretty heavy duty plastic bottles AND plastic straws is a pity… a lot of bubble tea stores use really good quality straws made from paper. They don’t get soft after a few sips and they definitely hold their shape and quality at least for a few hours. Machi could follow their example. Especially since this “no plastic” rule isn’t something new in this...
Read moreA wonderful experience during their 2nd birthday celebration! 🎉
I recently visited Machi Machi Rotterdam during their 3-day celebration for their 2nd birthday, and I enjoyed it so much—I ended up going twice, on both the 26th and 27th of July!
The atmosphere was festive, cheerful, and welcoming—perfect for marking such a fun occasion. Both visits were consistently great, which says a lot about the quality and service they offer.
I ordered the Matcha Latte with oat milk, served warm with less sugar, and the Oolong Tieguanyin Tea on ice. Both drinks were incredibly well-balanced, smooth, and refreshing. The ability to customize sugar levels is a big plus and shows their attention to individual preferences.
The 1+1 birthday promotion was a lovely surprise and made it even more tempting to try different drinks. The interior is clean and modern, and the staff were friendly and efficient on both visits.
Machi Machi has officially become my go-to bubble tea spot in Rotterdam. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a loyal fan, they continue to impress with both quality and service.
Here’s to many more birthdays,...
Read moreI visited this bubble tea store relatively soon after they opened and for that reason, there was a huge line in front of it. I was determined to wait, because I was really hyped up for the drinks, since I had seen it advertised on so many socials. However, I can’t say that I’m fully satisfied. I ordered the recommended and very popular Crème Brûlée Boba, but it was insanely sweet; I’ll have to admit that I have tried better ones. Also, I’d say that it’s unnecessarily expensive. So, that’s why I wouldn’t say that it was worth the 30-to-40-minute wait, excluding the 10-15-minute one for the drink itself. On the contrary, the interior is extremely soothing and aesthetically pleasing; a perfect place for cute pictures. The staff is very welcoming too. To end on a good note, I do believe that it is now less crowded, but for the boba - I cannot say much. I do want to try other flavours too, as I cannot base my overall rating only...
