O'Pazzo Schouwburgplein — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Had to wait almost two hours for getting the main course, understand it’s kingsday night, but still, the table next to us came almost half an hour later with five people got all of their order while we just got three drinks and one overcooked appetizer which only came after we complained to the waiter. We had an appointment tonight, couldn’t make it due to the long unpleasant waiting, had to cancel and walked home with two cold take-away pizzas and one salad to go. We paid almost 90 euros for a” to go “ experience. That’s what you call “gezellig” I guess. There was no proper apology afterwards, instead the manager was quite rude and confronting us when we were explaining the situation, she kept asking whether we cancelled the order or not. From the beginning to the end, two hours sitting there, I never asked to cancel the order, but only to ask how long it still takes and weather the order was placed successfully or not. Letting your customers waiting for two hours was nooit nooit the bedoeling! Was very very disappointed by the service and experience. Actually a bit shocked. We were royal customers at O’pazzo Blaak, first time to try it at this location, got quite speechless on a feest night which you should feel happy and satisfied. Never ever again for me, and I hope this review can be helpful as in no customers should be treated and experienced...

We got to visit and enjoy the brand new branch of O’Pazzo right in the city centre, next to Lijnbaan. It’s an incredibly spacious location with two floors and much room for different company sizes. They’ve also got a wardrobe to hang your coats, which is always better than having your coat behind you on the chair. The food is excellent, too! I read reviews here saying the wait was too long and the service too slow, but that wasn’t our case. We had two appetisers and pasta, and all were served and eaten within less than an hour. Please note that salmon cannoli isn’t a true cannoli but a salmon roll - I made the mistake of expecting an authentic cannoli, so it might be best to opt for another starter, e.g. arancini. Anyway, Tortelloni Funghi - my personal recommendation, as it was perfect, and cauliflower cream added an excellent touch. Stopped by for an after work pizza.

The pizza was better than average. However, the middle of the pizza was a little soggy and the edges of the pizza were a bit burned.

I usually save the pizza crusts for last and then dip them in chili oil. However, I could only eat half of the crusts because the other half was too charred. (Most of the crust had gone completely black.)

Service was below average. The drinks arrived quickly. And, the pizzas arrived quickly as well (within 20 min). However, we felt like we were rushed out the door.

For example. As soon as I had taken the last bite of my pizza, Server 1 was at our table to clear away our plates. He, then, immediately asked if we wanted something else.
