Gingerbread Cafe — Restaurant in Saint Martin

We love the Gingerbread Cafe!... Pool and beachside at the Bellair Beach Hotel and connected via boardwalk to Divi Little Bay Beach Resort, but welcome to all just tell the gentlemen at the gate. No frills but this place has it all... family run so every staff member has a vested interest, open air with amazing view of little bay, best blended drinks on the island, relaxed and fun bar, TVs for sports and high quality sound system for music when the time is right, inexpensive food that perfectly hits the mark. Can't beat the fluffy pancakes or eggs cooked to order for breakfast. The seafood inspired sandwiches/salads for lunch are typically available deep into the afternoon if you arent quite ready for dinner portion. Favorite apps were the conch fritters, calamari, and delicious sweet Caribbean flavored wings. The BBQ chicken and ribs are top notch and always on the dinner menu, but watch for the all you can eat dinner special with a family-friendly party atmosphere. Sat for an hour for the Captain's Breakfast ... must have had a mutiny in the kitchen. No sausage, four sad little potatoes and very little bacon. My child ordered French toast but it wasn't like any French toast I had ever seen ... more like blackened French bread. People who sat after us were served before us.They were very nice and apologetic about the wait and comped our drinks (two cokes and a coffee), said the cook mixed up the tickets but even still. I was looking forward to the sausage and we couldn't have them fix it because our taxi was leaving in 10 minutes. We literally had to inhale our breakfast. The lobster dinner we had on Wednesday was good, but service was slow then too though. My youngest said the calamari was good but my son said the burger lacked seasoning. Staying at the nearby Divi Little Bay and this cafe has been our go-to place for good food and fun. If it wasn't for this restaurant just a short walk down the beach our stay would have been made much less happy because we would have been confined with eating at just the resort property (their food and service are not very good).

We've had breakfast here almost everyday, lunch and dinner several times. Food and staff are friendly but be aware that they have limited people working so sometimes you have to wait a little bit for your order. Relax and enjoy the island and you won't be disappointed eating here.
