A truly unique concept.
The menu is exotic—arguably the most exotic I’ve encountered in Europe. And I’ve experienced thousands. Dishes like kangaroo and crocodile are an absolute rarity here, making this place stand out in a big way.
Prices are slightly above average, but that’s understandable given the quality. The food is outstanding. With some refinement in the details, a Michelin star wouldn’t be out of reach—it’s just a matter of time. A bit more focus on polishing the finer aspects could take this to the next level.
The staff is willing and polite, but lacks experience and warmth. Smiles were few, and they could definitely benefit from professional training. However, with a bit more effort, this restaurant has the potential to become a serious contender for one of the top spots.
It’s clear the chef is passionate about their craft. The food is excellent, with beautifully balanced flavors. We will definitely be...
Read moreBoy, did we enjoy this place. Food was good quality. The exotic meats were tender, well prepared and tasted interesting (we never had a kangaroo or an ostrich before, and it tasted like no other meat we ever ate). The owner gave us a fair warning that the portions are not small, and between starters and mains there was really no reason to order bread, which was absolutely true - we were quite stuffed.
We had a few drinks and ordered aussie red (very reasonably priced at around 30 eur for a very good bottle), and rum. Careful with the rum - what passes for a single dose here is more or less a 'double' in most other establishments. I made the mistake (well, maybe not) of ordering a double shot of the aussie rum and (1) it was very enjoyable and inexpensive and (2) i left the establishment in a very merry mood since this was something like 200ml of liquor. Very good experience, would come back when next...
Read moreAs an Australian, living in the Netherlands, it is nice to have a piece of home so closeby. They have the famous Bundaberg Rum (mixed drinks or straight). They also have the non-alcoholic Bundaberg Ginger Beer.
The prices are extremely reasonable for the portion sizes. I strongly recommend the Potato Soup, Bushtucker Burger and the Nachos. Although, I recommend when ordering a burger to ask for the sauce on the side. I find that the burger gets drowned in the sauce if they put it on.
The reason I only gave it four stars instead of five is that they are horribly slow at bringing your food out. We ate there today - arrived at 11:40am. We teceived our food around 12:30pm. It didn't take long to order, just to...
