Sushi Vandaag Sittard — Restaurant in Sittard-Geleen

This is an "all you can eat" menu, so when you walk in the door to eat you are spending 30 euros for the basic menu. You sit down and they give you a tablet to order from, you can order seven items on the first round, then you need to wait 20 minutes before you can order more. You can do this FIVE times....so a good amount of food, but if you are by yourself, or not used taking so long to eat, you will not make past two rounds, but you still pay the full amount. You cannot take the extra rounds home with you.

Wine and other drinks are EXTRA.

They do have takeaway, but I have not tried this yet.

Pluses: The staff are very nice. Beautiful decor and ambiance inside. Great location in Sittard. The menu is extensive. Very large and extensive serve yourself desert bar and is part of the included menu.

Negatives: Not ideal for people by themselves. Not a quick meal. Prices are on the upper-end, but okay for the area.

If you like desert, this is the place for you. Also the sushi is good too. I was super full after two rounds and couldn't eat anymore so I skipped desert.

The fish was decent at best, the rice was older and had gotten harder, warm dishes were lukewarm at best, the staff was mostly friendly and the time we had to wait until our order arrived was pretty short up until about 7.30pm when things started to become a bit more crowded (and we didn't see a single employee after that).

As with all all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in Holland, this restaurant used to be pretty good in the beginning when things were new and the needed to build a name for themselves, but in the last few years things have changed and everything for worse and worse (diluted soy-sauce?).

The accommodation could definitely use a renovation. Menus that fall apart are not such a big concern for me but when the seating is falling apart and the upholstery coming off is more a given than an exception, it means you have to get your priorities straightened.

Normally I'd say 3.5 stars because they are hit and miss. Usually they are very good but they do have bad days where the orders are wrong and the food comes slowly.
