KAO Thai — Restaurant in Steenwijkerland

We took this month's Chef Special (Korean Sushi with shrimp chicken, eggrolls and kimchi) and the Pad Med Mamuang. It was really delicious. The personell was friendly. The owner was very kind and concerned whether we liked it and whether it was enough. Offered coffee and tea for free and gave me some Kimchi to take home when I told her I liked the taste. All food was fresh and well cooked. It's mainly a take away with some tables and chairs. It appeared there was no toilet, but there was. To get there you walk aside of the kitchen. I like it when a restaurant has an open kitchen. It is usually hard to find a true-to-taste authentic Thai restaurant in Europe, but how is this one restaurant in a small town of the Netherlands nailed it?! The moment I peaked through the window and saw the chef with her very Thai-chef like hat, I knew I had come to the right place. Food was almost perfect to what I always had when living in Thailand! I felt a tiny bit emotional while eating because it brought back so many memories of Thai's hospitality and splendid cuisine. The service was very good. This is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever visited! The flavors were authentic, vibrant, and absolutely delicious, with each dish cooked to perfection. The ambiance made the experience even more enjoyable, providing a cozy yet lively atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making sure every need was met with a warm smile.
