As it was Easter weekend, we knew that we needed to secure ourselves a restaurant reservation for diner last Sunday. So while strolling through De Koog, I scouted some of the restaurants there. From their habitual menu, Eigeweis! came out as the most convincing (they have sous-vide preparations on it). But the fact that Eigeweis! suggested asparagus made us decide to make our diner-reservation here. The basic recipe was asparagus à la hollandaise with an hardboiled egg, ham and parmesan cheese. Suppose that could be taken as a starter. And there where 3 variations: vegetarian (without the egg and the ham (I think)), with lamb meat and with sea bream. The staff were incredibly hospitable and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. It was a warm and pleasant atmosphere overall.
I definitely recommend Eigeweis to anyone visiting Texel, especially if you're staying in or near the De Koog area. It's a great spot for a relaxed...
Read moreNice place, friendly waiters (including the funny robot servants 😀) ambiance oké (we were early so not many people, but I can imagine the place gets a more cozy atmosphere once it's crowded) music not to loud and fitting the overall feeling. Food also oké not Haut cuisine (and that is exactly as advertised) but also not like a fast food or anything, just neatly in the middle. Oh and having an allergy is no problem. They adjusted my plate accordingly, well done. Price conform. All in all a reasonable place to have a reasonable meal for a...
