Hotel Kogerstaete — Hotel in Texel

It is a reasonable hotel, but not even close to 4-stars. Although ... hotel? If you do not offer lunch, diner or even a bar I feel it is a bed and breakfast, not a hotel. The rating is reflects the expectations based on the 4-star indication and price level. In general we missed the typical Texel hospitality we experienced, and still experience, in various places on Texel throughout the last decades. ||||Reading the reviews I felt we stayed in a different hotel somehow. People received maps when they checked in? Explanation of equipment? We just got the keys and an indication where the room was. No really interest in the guests.||||We booked a double bedroom room suite and it is very spacious. Bed rooms upstairs (check if the entrance door is locked!) reachable through squeaky stair. But we did not feel it was very clean. Also interior and the towels are way past due date, not the quality one may expect for a 4-star hotel. Not even the quality we have experienced in any hotel on Texel. Water pressure in the shower is very poor and even with this pressure the drain has difficulty processing the water. ||||Breakfast is reasonable. But not 4-star quality and we even say below Texel average. One remarkable fact: staff does not know if the eggs are boiled hard or soft. It is just in-between but according to the breakfast lady that is way more complicated that boiling an egg hard or soft. The breakfast room is in desperate need of ventilation. The smell of food gets into your clothes for good part of the day.||||If you are looking for a place to stay in De Koog it probably is a nice location. They have their own (limited) parking and De Koog is just a 1 min walk. However, we feel the proximity may cause so noise during the high-season. And the parking is limited and...

I've made the reservation online, one of the main reasons we made the choice to stay at this hotel is because it's suitable for electrical cars ( to charge at the hotel ). On our arrival we were friendly greeted by Desire Boks, she is a great hostess together with her partner Simon Fulcri. Desire explained all the necessary for our 3 day stay at the hotel. We asked for a nice restaurant in the area to celebrate my gf's birthday the next day. She asked us what kind of food we were looking for... and adviced us going to a restaurant she and her partner love to visit. We agreed and she made the reservation for us...AMAZING RESTAURANT! Now to compliment the hotel. The hotel itself was really nice decorated... very stylish. It is a cozy well maintained hotel, we stayed at the deluxe plus room...wich was very spacious and had a private balcony as well. The location of the hotel is perfect, on walking distance to various restauarants/bars/supermarkets and stores. The breakfast gives your variety of choises and the staff is realy friendly. Every morning they served us a complimentary fresh smoothie/shake as well.

We would definitely visit this place on our next trip to Texel. And would recommend all the friends and family to book with this hotel on their stay on Texel.
