India Glory — Restaurant in The Hague

Very rude and very in-sensitive, not recommended unless there is no other place with food!!! I ordered a home delivery (at 5:50) for 1st time from this hotel to give it a try and did not receive it for 1 hour and 30 mins. When I called, the attendant said that the delivery person found no one at my home. This was not true since we never go out in Sunday evening as a rule (Monday being a office day and all...). I told the attendant that the delivery person had not been to correct address and to send the parcel ASAP (as soon as possible) and he said that he does not believe me. Then he said "This is not India, this is Netherlands". I was shocked to hear this! I told him that I have been in Hague for more than 4 years and understand the difference. Then he said arrogantly that he has 3K to 4K customers and he does not want to have any more customers. I said "Thank You!" and closed the call. Then I called another restaurant (Delhi Darbar) and placed the order. Later this delivery guy comes in again and the attendant was down in the street honking his car horn due to some unknown reason. In the 50+ years I have roamed this earth, I have gotten to know quite a number of Indian restaurants. I do not think any one of them is less worthy of the name 'India Glory'.

We ordered a butter chicken and a chicken tikka marsala. We especially ordered the butter chicken 'mild' so our toddler son could eat along. I like my food a bit spicy so I went for the tikka marsala medium. Then we ordered a cheese nan (again with our son in mind) and a garlic nan.

Both the chicken dishes were a lot more spicy than ordered. I was ok with it. My food was just 'spicy' but I ended up having to eat it cold because I had to whip up something for our son. Something I had hoped not to do today.

Then we received our cheese nan. I mis-red this on the menu. In their case the cheese nan is 'Sweet bread with coconut, almonds, fruits and raisins'. My bad? The other nan was coloured red. It was neither spicy nor any specific taste. It had, on the other hand, been around for a while because it was tough and chewy.

So there, our reasons for giving a rating of two out...

I'm giving 2 stars mainly because of bad operations. Food arrived 1.45 hours after ordering from thuisbezorgd. The website to track the time of delivery was never updated. Needed to call the restaurant to ask how long it will take to receive the food. The restaurant said 1 hour, which was not the case. We waited almost 2 hours. There was also some issues in terms of payment, unclear if I had paid by credit card or not. The delivery guy checked with the restaurant on the spot when delivering the food. Restaurant told us we had paid. The following day I received a call that the payment wasn't made. Would have been nice to offer an apology for the inconvenience especially for the hassle with the regards to the payment. The food was nice, but due to bad operations and in particular the handling the payment situation, we will consider twice before ordering from Inia...
