Champions Sportsbar & Grill — Restaurant in Utrecht

Made a reservation for Saturday evening which probably wouldn't have been necessary. We were seated downstairs by the Grachten, but could have also chosen to either sit inside upstairs, or inside downstairs.

None of the tables that was already seated outside had any food on their tables yet. When we recognized it took them quite some time to even bring out the first food around us, we already thought to manage our expectations accordingly.

We ordered one main dish each, consisting of a Rumpsteak and a side. It took approx. 45min to get the food out. Nice chunks of meat with great quality to the meat itself. Yet with the cut of meat it was a hard miss for the degree of doneness. I ordered mine medium rare, which had mostly been well/medium well for the most part, and even the center couldn't even really be described as medium either.

While keeping in mind that the meat quality was great, considering that a lot of other people had put their orders in after us and us being aware of the seemingly long prep times, we didn't end up critiquing it. Yet if we came a next time, we would definitely be telling the waiter about the previous bad experience or would opt for a burger instead.

Overall the service was very slow and uncoordinated. With having those dining spaces so separate it should be ensured that one service staff is always around. At some point one of the guests from our dining area went upstairs to the bar herself to get another drink.

As said quality of meat was great. The sides were pretty yummy as well, but there is no real reason to come again while considering all the alternatives in Utrecht with a very similar menu.

Fun, chill atmosphere for sports fanatics and cool folks who enjoy good eats and a sipping good beer. Truly, the only proper Sports Bar/Pub in Utrecht. Terrific location right on the Oudegracht, with patio seating on the canal as well as views from indoors, so you may watch the game as you sit canalside. The menu is typical sports pub grub PLUS! Ordered your hotdog, springrolls and coleslaw online rather late last night. Turned out to be one tasty treat! Fries were still warm upon arrival and the sprinrolls pipin hot even. Loads of value for money too, in comparison to your competitors. Could have don't with a few more full bodied fries (a lot of those crunchy over fried ones in there which are lush but only to a point) and I couldn't really detect how and where but there was something oversalted around the sausage.
