I need to give you some context as to why you NEED to bring your toddler here and why the staff here are angels.
Our toddler (who lives in Germany but is Dutch) had been in lockdown for most of her 2yrs on this earth. She watches nijntje as her main source of language exposure. She fell in love with Snuffie to the point she'd cry when Snuffie got upset or wasn't on the screen anymore. We went on the hunt for a Snuffie toy and we couldn't find one. We then emailed the museum and asked if they had a gift shop with a Snuffie toy in it. Not only did they go out of their way to check and let us know what types of Snuffies they had in the shop, they let us know they had a Snuffie stool in the entrance for all children to sit on.
We booked our visit, travelled from Köln and made some of the best memories of our lives.
Do there, book in advance, plan ahead of time. You'll not regret it and your toddler will never forget the memories...
Read moreThe museum is really really wonderful for kids under around 6, my family has spent many happy hours here. However, there are two things that only keep getting worse:
The museum is always overcrowded unless you're there in the first hour after they open. The level of crowds and chaos is shocking given that they work with time slots, and it's gotten much worse since they moved back to their permanent location. It's very unpleasant. Woe befall you if you want to use the toilets after their closing time of exactly 5 o'clock. They don't care that your kid is 3, the toilets are locked exactly at 5 or even a few minutes before and that's the end of that. They also clean up other areas and close them 30 full minutes before the closing time of 5 o'clock, like the art area. And they are super rude about it all. This toilet issue has unbelievably come up for me twice at the museum with kids who were very recently potty trained and I found the whole thing very off-putting from what is really a children's playground. I'd have understood if it was 5:10 or something but it was literally right at 5 o'clock both times.
Despite both these things, we have been many times and will go again, my kids have fun. But they significantly diminished my experience and willingness to wholeheartedly recommend the...
Read moreI an writing to express my comments and bad feeling for being treated so worst today, we are travellers from Toronto and coming all the way instantly from Amsterdam and Nuenen across provinces today, but finally my daughter, a student and fan of Miffy since childhood, were asked by a lady wearing blue top at the entrance, “Don't come back!" The first point we can see that we don't have reservations of tickets which was not welcomed, 2ndly, we are asked what language to speak and feel like being discriminated, as the time we were buying tickets, but I have a need going to WC first, the lady was tracing my daughter and blamed her going to WC without tickets then kicked her out saying "don't come back". My daughter was feeling so upset for this unfriendly welcoming message here and has never been treated like this. I would like to tell that we respect people and children everywhere so we didn't come back to express and negotiate verbally attaching our negative feeling, I am a kindergarten teacher also and can tell that it not the right place to treat people with bad example to children in Netherlands. Finally, my daughter went to souvenir shops to buy post cards and left. Though I don't expect to receive your response, but don't wanna see other people being treated...
