Brasserie Basiliek Venlo — Restaurant in Venlo

Unfortunately very unfriendly:( Edit: yes sure, I can explain it. My boyfriend and I entered your restaurant. Since no one of the staff was in the front area but busy on the terrace and we both needed to use the toilet urgently, we did it. Right when we came out, the waitress was already there and asked us in a passive aggressive tone if we were guests in this restaurant. I said that we just came in so she said „well then you need to pay for using the toilet“. We actually thought about staying there because it looked like a cute place but after this „scene“ we decided not to. Besides the fact that this is not the nicest way to treat your (potential) guests, it’s also not the best managing strategy of the restaurant that now made 2€ but got a bad review and won’t see us again...

Very tasty meat plate! The only disappointment was the piece of stake that was included there - very dry, not possible to it. But all the rest was yummy. Also plump pie and white chocolate cake from the desert menu are delicious (don’t remember the fancy name of the both of them). We enjoyed the service and the cozy atmosphere. Weihnachtsessen mit großartigen Ravioli in Trüffelsoße. Am zweiten Weihnachtsfeiertag war ich kurzfristig auf der Suche nach einem guten Restaurant in Venlo. Die meisten waren bereits ausgebucht. Nachdem ich die Hoffnung schon fast aufgegeben hatte, habe ich etwas später am Abend in der Brasserie Basiliek noch einen Platz bekommen. Das war doppeltes Glück, da die Speisen und die Bedienung sehr gut waren.

Als Vorspeise gab es Ravioli met Truffel Saus (Trüffelsoße), als Hauptgericht habe ich "Varkenshaasje" aus der normalen Karte gewählt, da das Wild leider ausverkauft war.

Den Nachtisch wählte ich wieder aus der Weihnachtskarte vom „Kerstmenu“ (Weihnachtsmenü) und entschied mich für das „Petit grand Dessert“. Das waren viele kleine Süßigkeiten in einem guten Mix.

Qualität vom Essen war insgesamt sehr hochwertig. Das merkt man dann auch am Preis. Der ist aber gerechtfertigt.

Die Brasserie ist sehr nett eingerichtet mit einer schönen Bar, einer offenen Küche.

Das Interior ist ein gelungener Mix aus traditioneller Brasserie und modernem Restaurant.

Im Sommer gibt es auch einen schönen Innenhof.
