Bagel Alley, ontbijt, lunch. — Restaurant in Wassenaar

As much as I love their carrot cake; this place isn’t what it used to be anymore. I feel the (chewy) bagels are highly overpriced, but what really is dismaying is the staff. Staff were apathetic and disinterested during my order. I really expected better customer service in a very American induced bakery. The place was literally icy cold! The heating is off in the winter and when we asked the staff if it could be turned on, they never came back to either turn it on or mention something about it. Not classy behaviour. The place is kinda falling apart, even the doorknob of the entrance door was loose and constantly kept dropping...

We just came away from this place feeling a bit scammed. We ordered coffees without stipulating the size, and we were served large coffees. We ordered hot chocolate without cream and they came with cream on. Then the bill was rounded up to the nearest 5 cents despite paying with a card.

The drinks were fine but it just seems like they use any scam in the book to charge you more than you expected. We won't...

Good breakfast here although it was a little expensive for what it was, I think this is because the area is very touristy. I had the bagel capriccio which was simply amazing (sliced cheese would’ve improved it though). Bacon and egg bagels also nice, fresh orange juice was impressive too. Service was good, english was spoken which made it easy for us, no soap in the toilets however...
